Shadow Hunter and TPM Novel Re-issue in 2012

The official Star Wars Books Facebook page has announced a 2012 re-issue of Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter and The Phantom Menace novelization. Shadow Hunter was first released in 2001, while the Episode I novelization came out in 1999.

Del Rey and LucasBooks will re-issue paperbacks of Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter and The Phantom Menace movie novelization in Spring 2012. The re-issues are in anticipation of the announced 3D theatrical release of Episode I: The Phantom Menace sometime in 2012. Each book will feature its own new original short story. Short story authors and characters have not been decided at this time. More to come on that soon.

Erich Schoeneweiss, editor at Del Rey, tells us that he believes that Darth Maul: Saboteur, a short story by James Luceno, will also be included in the re-issue of Shadow Hunter. Saboteur was originally an eBook that was included in the first paperback release of Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter (it was absent from the hardcover edition). Erich notes that “This is about adding content, not subtracting it.”
