Del Rey and Dark Horse Announcements from NYCC

New York Comic Con just wrapped up, and Star Wars Expanded Universe Fans have a ton to look forward to. BOOKS Fresh out of New York Comic Con and posted by Erich Schoenweiss on the Star Wars Books Facebook page:
Just announced at our Del Rey Star Wars books panel: Drew Karpyshyn will write a fourth novel that will tie into The Old Republic for Fall 2012 and Tim Zahn will write a new novel starring Han Solo set in the classic films era. More details to come on both as they develop. (ES)
Awesome news for fans of both authors. COMICS Dark Horse also announced several upcoming series.
  • Knights of the Old Republic - War will feature the return of Zayne Carrick and will be penned by John Jackson Miller. Look for the first issue on January 11, 2012.
  • Darth Vader and the Ghost Prison, coming May 2012, is a five issue series written by Haden Blackman. It takes place a year after the events of Revenge of the Sith.
  • Also returning are the Blood Ties and Knight Errant series, written by Tom Taylor and John Jackson Miller, respectively.
  • Perhaps the most exciting news was the announcement of the new project by John Ostrander and Jan Duursema.  The pair, best known for their work on the Legacy series, will take you back to the beginnings of the Jedi Order with Dawn of the Jedi. VIDEO GAMES Finally, fans anticipating the release of The Old Republic MMO on December 20 can whet their appetites with a new trailer.
