Sue Rostoni, Editor at Lucas Licensing, has just revealed the title of the third “Fate of the Jedi” novel. Written by Troy Denning, Fate of the Jed 3: Abyss is scheduled to be released August 28 of 2009.

GOOD TO KNOW THE TITLES BEFORE THE COVER(S) COMES TO STARWARS.COM OR WHATEVER SW WEBSITE(S)..EVEN ALSO TO THE BOOKSTORES AS WELL.
I’LL KEEP IT ON MY MIND, SO I KNOW WHICH TITLE I’M ASKING FOR NEXT YEAR STARTING IN APRIL ‘09. KEEP THE TITLES COMING.

abyss I am starting to wonder if we are ever going to have tiles in series like this that are not just one word ever again what does abyss mean for the New Jedi Order I guess I will have wait and find out next year or 2010

Sounds like more descent into the darkness for the Jedi and the galaxy. And they aren’t doing the best job of winning me over by following such a similar pattern to LotF.

II hear you I think what is going to happen is Daala is going to make a deal with Luke. Luke will leave the New Jedi Order in return Daala has top drop the arrest warrants but this is actually a ploy on Luke’s part and leaves Luke free to figure out how this corruption of the Jedi is happening and on top of that Since Luke is not Grandmaster anymore Daala can’t blame Luke for the Jedi if he is not leading it or even in it for that matter Luke will along with his son go into exile and for all intents and purposes be outcasts hence the name of the book Luke and Ben are going to use their new status to their advantage and find a way to fix the problems within the New Jedi Order and figure out what is causing this problem in the first place.
Now while the Skywalkers are out of the picture Daala and Boba Fett are going to capitalize on the Luke and Bens absence and declare war on the New Jedi Order Boba Fett has waited 60 years for revenge against the Jedi and he is not going to get a better opportunity to strike at the Jedi then now I would say a Skywalker less New Jedi Order evens the playing field for the Mandilorians if it does not give them the advantage outright
now how I think it will end Daala and Boba Fett will do well as long as Luke and Ben are not involved but as soon as Luke and Ben come back the tide will turn against Daala and Fett Luke or Ben will find a way to discredit Daala and prove the New Jedi Orders innocence the GA military and citizens will turn against Daala and at that point she and Fett will lose soon after
A few things I think may happen
1 I think Daala will die in this series she has cheated death a few times too many she should have died during the Galactic Civil War I am pretty sure she will die or be forced to step down at the end of this so this should be her last series one way or another
2 Boba Fett I have no idea how this will end for him he will die or do what he does best cheat death he has died so many times that I can never believe it when he is said to be dead so I will simply wait and see what happens with him I know this much he will not win this war he may come close but once the Skywalkers rejoin the war he will lose and he will lose bad and he may die for good this time we will see
3 The Empire I am very interested in seeing whose side they are on whose side is Jag Fel on hmm maybe Jaina knows again I really hope Jag is on Luke’s side but who knows ether way it will be interesting to see whose side they are on because lets face it, it would not be a war without the Empire getting involved at some point I really hope Jag is on Luke’s side I really do
4 I hate to say this but I think Luke is not going to make it through this series Del Rey has a habit of killing off a major character member of the Skywalker/Sols family in the middle of each series if I had to guess I would say Luke is the one most likely to die in this series Jaina and Ben can’t die because I think Jaina is destined to help Jag turn the Empire into the Fel Empire Ben can’t die until he has a son of his own until then he is untouchable because if he dies now who do you explain Nat Kol and especially Cade Skywalker during the Legacy series Ben has a huge character shied and so does Jaina for that matter they are both safe they still have a part to play in shaping the future of the Galaxy Han and Leia Solo are most likely safe too cause lets face it Troy Dunning loves writing them way too much to let them be kill off in a series he is involved with they are safer no after reason then that so Luke makes the most since to me which is sad in my case so soon after losing Mara in Legacy of Force I am going to lose Luke too my top too favorite characters are going to die in back to back series I just hope when they do kill Luke off that they give him a little more dignity then they did Mara. No poison dart should EVER been to kill Mara Skywalker I for one will miss them both I just hope Ben is cool by then but he will never replace his parents no matter how cool he becomes I think Ben will replace his father as leader of the New Jedi Order by the end of this series
