Things are not going well in the Tython system. The Je’daii Order is about to face its first true challenge in the form of a ship from the evil Rakatan Empire, carrying their Force Hound Xesh.

The Rakatan ship crashes, killing all aboard except Xesh. He encounters the three Je’daii Journeyers who had a vision of his approach in Issue #2. The Je’daii realize very quickly that they are not ready to face a dark warrior like Xesh. We also see what happens when you bring a sword to a lightsaber fight.

Dawn of the Jedi: Force Storm, Part 3

Xesh makes short work of our three Je’daii. Even though they are all skilled, they are no match to his power in the dark side.

While the Journeyers fight, the Je’daii masters sense the presence of the invaders. They are cautious but unaware of the true nature and power of the danger they now face.

The Je’daii Masters sense a Force storm is brewing. The Journeyers, however, see firsthand the dark side power that this Force storm will rain down on the Je’daii Order.

While Duursema’s art is strong, I feel that the writing in this issue isn’t as strong. There is good banter between the three Journeyers, but it is overused and it undercuts the tension of the fight with Xesh.

Ostrander and Duursema close with a good cliffhanger, posing questions we didn’t realize we should have been asking, and a new player is ready to enter the fight between the Rakatans and the Je’daii.
