Connor Freeman has been arrested by the Empire and blown up by mercenaries. Issue #2 opens with Connor’s rescuers doing their best to put him back together; at least the pieces of him they could find.
We find out how Boba Fett ended up in the desert with a hole in his head, including a big reveal that I wasn’t expecting this early in the story.
Connor, who was reported to have died in the explosion from the first issue, is taken to “somewhere a dead man can walk around safely…” – Concord Dawn. He is tasked with finding and protecting a bounty hunter named Sintas Vel, leading to a very fun exchange that shows just how out of his depth Connor is.
The art and writing do a good job of showing Connor’s despair. His life destroyed, presumed dead, on the run from the Empire and whoever was behind the attack on Fett.
Connor’s rescuer is continuing the mission of hunting down Boba Fett’s killers, heading him to the Imperial training base, Blackfel. We will see if the Empire’s best can stand against the man who is avenging the death of Boba Fett.
