‘Terror From Beyond’ update released for Star Wars: The Old Republic

Star Wars: The Old Republic subscribers now have new content to dig into. Terror From Beyond, SWTOR Game Update 1.4, is now live on BioWare's servers, adding a new Operation, new weapons and armor, and improved group finder, new companion customization options, new facial expression emotes, and much more. If you only play SWTOR solo, you'll be disappointed to learn that Terror From Beyond is an Operation. In other words, you'll need eight to sixteen high-level (e.g. level 50) players in order to get started on this challenge. But if you've already completed the game and you're looking for new content to play with your friends, you're sure to have a good time taking down Dread Masters and closing the Hypergate. Gamers will also be pleased to hear that the Group Finder will now teleport you back to your original location after you've finished a mission. Additionally, you now have two hours before Bind on Pickup, Bind on Legacy, and commendation items are permanently bound to your character, and loot items can be transferred between any member of your party. Last, but certainly not least, are the new shadow optimizations, which increase performance while giving you smoother, more dynamic shadows. BioWare has committed to releasing new game updates every six weeks, rather than quarterly. Is Game Update 1.4 enough to bring back players who've let their subscriptions lapse? Possibly. But current subscribers and those going the free-to-play route later this fall are certain to appreciate the improvements. [The Old Republic]
