Disney has just announced the completion of its $4.06 billion acquisition of Lucasfilm Ltd. As of this writing, all Lucasfilm employees are now on the Disney payroll.
This news comes a little under two months after Lucasfilm shocked the world with the announcement of its impending acquisition and the production of new Star Wars films. Star Wars expert and Lucasfilm employee Pablo Hidalgo had this to say:
As of today, I am a Disney employee. 2013 is going to be very, very cool.

While we are unsure what the future will hold for the Expanded Universe, it is without a doubt an exciting time for Star Wars fans.
