The unannounced Star Wars novel we heard about a few weeks ago got it’s reveal over at io9 today. Maul: Lockdown, written by Joe Schreiber of Death Troopers fame, throws Darth Maul into a prison filled with scum and villany that rivals Mos Eisley as he attempts to complete a secret mission for Darth Sidious. For those worried that this announcement might be spoiling upcoming episodes of The Clone Wars, fear not. Maul: Lockdown is set prior to The Phantom Menace.
Schreiber knows how to write a fast paced book with lots of action. If that’s your style be sure to look for Maul: Lockdown when it releases in late 2013. Check out the cover and synopsis below!
From the mind of Joe Schreiber, New York Times bestselling author of Star Wars: Death Troopers, comes the delirious follow-up to last year’s Darth Plagueis. In a tale of retribution and survival set before the events of The Phantom Menace, Darth Plagueis and Darth Sidious dispatch Sith apprentice Darth Maul on a secret mission to infiltrate a criminal empire operating from inside Cog Hive Seven-a hidden prison teeming with the galaxy’s most savage criminals. There, he must contend against the scummiest and most villainous in gladiatorial death matches while carrying out his masters’ clandestine commands. Failure is not an option; success will ignite the revenge of the Sith against the Jedi Order.

Nice to see Darth Maul getting some love! He’s easily the most underused primary character from the movies.
I’m really looking forward to seeing how this plays out; Maul is getting more and more fleshed out and it’s great to see.
I fully expect this book to end up being very gory. Horror writer plus Maul? THERE WILL BE BLOOD.
At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. At last we will have our revenge. – Darth Maul to Darth Sidious THE PHANTOM MENACE. i would definitely download the ebook at the end of the year at home since i have Wi-Fi i could do it but that is a long way from now. i would love to read MORE OF MAUL during the PREQUEL ERA before THE PHANTOM MENACE Prequel. this should be a gory horror book to read. oh how mighty the Sith has risen.
