Weekly Releases: Feb 3rd – 9th

This week has an exciting release for fans of Dark Horse Comics' Dark Times series. A new five issue arc titled Fire Carrier starts on Wednesday, written by Randy Stradley with art from Gabriel Guzman.  Dark Times - Fire Carrier follows Jedi Master K'Kruhk (who has appeared in MANY comic series) as he protects a group of young Padawans during the rise of the Empire. Fire Carrier can be considered a new entry point to the Dark Times series as it is a new #1 issue, but as Lawrence pointed out on Twitter this is technically the 23rd issue of Dark Times and even could be considered the 106th issue of Republic. And you all thought Marvel and DC had complicated numbering systems. This week's other comic release is an Omnibus collection of the three Star Wars - Infinities comics. The Infinities series takes a look at how things might have played out differently in the three Original Trilogy films if certain events hadn't happened they way they did. For example, Infinities: A New Hope examines what would have happened if Luke's torpedo had missed its mark and the Death Star wasn't destroyed. Now, this may have been out last week in some stores, but the Dark Horse website still has it listed for February 6th so I saved it for today's post since it might not have been available everywhere last week. First we have confusing comic numbering, now we have confusing release dates. Being a comic fan is tough work. With the Darth Maul/Death Watch story resolved (for now) on The Clone Wars a new Ahsoka focused arc will be starting on Saturday. "Sabotage" sees Anakin and Ahsoka investigating an explosion at the Jedi Temple. I've been avoiding previews for this arc so I can go in as unspoiled as possible, but I do know that we'll be visiting the Coruscant underworld and that a certain dark apprentice turned bounty hunter will be making an appearance at some point, so this should be a great story. Here are the summaries for this week's releases, and don't forget to keep an eye on our EU Release Schedule to see what the future holds. Dark Times - Fire Carrier #1 (of 5)
Jedi Master K’Kruhk is on the run with a group of young Padawans. In a galaxy suddenly hunting Jedi, they are forced to land on an Imperial-run planet, hiding in the refugee camp, among other beings who were displaced by the Clone Wars. But K’Kruhk senses there is something wrong! * Is K’Kruhk the last hope for the Jedi Order? * On the run from Vader!
Omnibus - Infinities
Collected here are three different tales where one thing happens differently than it did in the original trilogy of Star Wars films. The familiar players—Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, and Darth Vader—are launched onto new trajectories that send them toward dire consequences and unexpected futures! Collects Star Wars: Infinities—A New Hope; The Empire Strikes Back; and Return of the Jedi.
The Clone Wars - "Sabotage"
Anakin and Ahsoka investigate an explosion at the Temple, suspicious that a Jedi-turned-dark is responsible.
