Weekly Releases: March 17 – 23

Dark Horse Comics has a huge release on Wednesday as the popular comic series Star Wars: Legacy returns with a second volume. Set nearly 140 years after A New Hope, this new volume of Legacy follows a Solo rather than picking up the story of Cade Skywalker right away. Ania Solo is the great-great granddaughter of Han and Leia, who interestingly is not a Jedi at the start of the story as you would expect. Interviews with the new creative team, Corinna Bechko and Gabriel Hardman, have made Ania seem much more like Han was when we first met him, a regular person just trying to scrape by who ends up getting brought into larger galactic events whether she likes it or not. Previously listed as Legacy: Prisoner of the Floating World on DarkHorse.com, recent solicitations have removed that subtitle to stress the ongoing nature of Legacy. Like Brian Wood's Star Wars series, this comic will continue on past its first arc rather than follow the five issue arc then hiatus pattern of many other Star Wars comics. Bechko and Hardman have a legacy of their own they have to live up to, following in the footsteps of fan-favorite creative team John Ostrander and Jan Duursema, but an intriguing new lead character and promises of future appearances by some characters from the first volume of Legacy are making this follow-up look very promising. Our EU Release Schedule has been updated with Dark Horse's June solicitations, including the release date for the first Omnibus volume of Knights of the Old Republic, so be sure to take a look and see what's ahead!
