The EU Cantina.net is going to be starting up it’s own Star Wars book club on the site. Because there are a lot of people who really haven’t read that many Star Wars novels, it’s going to be more of a crash-course. The goal is to get everyone up to speed with the events that have taken place between the original films and the New Jedi Order novel series. The first novel on the list is Timothy Zahn’s Heir to the Empire, the first book in the Thrawn trilogy. After the Thrawn trilogy we’ll probably read the Jedi Academy trilogy. If anyone has any other recommendations or ideas, post them here and we’ll take those into consideration in the future. You can also e-mail them to eucnews@gmail.com. We will be making a e-mail account for the book club soon.
Since the idea for the book club is pretty new, we’re going to plan on everyone reading Heir to the Empire from now until January. In February we’ll get together and discuss the novel. We may go to a different format after February, like reading some chapters during the week and having meetings during the weekend, but this is the plan for now.
We’ll keep you posted on when and where the meetings will take place. We’re looking at using either the EU Cantina chatbox or holonet.org to host the discussions.
So go get a copy of Heir to the Empire and start reading! Also, be sure to sign up for the book club by e-mailing us at eucnews@gmail.com.

You know, for a long time now I’ve been wanting to reread this book; I think this would be the perfect time to finally commit to that!
