Dawn of the Jedi: Force War #2

This series is filled with darkness, war and bloodshed.  That's not to say this book doesn't have a heart.  The opening scene is a tender moment between Xesh and Shae Koda.  She bares her heart to him and he gives her something even more precious in return, his name.  There is power in a name.  It's a secret he has kept buried deep in his heart. The Je'daii make a bold plan to strike at the heart of the Rakatans to throw them off balance.  But, they are not the only ones with plans.  The spy within the Je'daii is Trill.  Her role to play in this battle is revealed.  Her cover is safe as long as Xesh's memory does not fully return.  Xesh's memory may not have fully returned, but he has grown strong in his time with the Je'daii.  He is beginning to trust Trill less and less.  This issue ends with a cliffhanger promising a battle we have been waiting to see since this all began. I know I can't wait to see Xesh and Trill face off.  They are the darkness and the light.  Between freedom, love, darkness and enslavement.  I know their confrontation will be the climax of this arc, but I was hoping to see a bit more of it here. Ostrander has crafted an emotional story.  It's not just the love story between Xesh and Shae Koda.  Daegen Lok gives us a brief interlude of appreciating the natural beauty of nature and life itself, right before we dive into the battle and see how twisted the world has become by the Rakatans.  Even they can not extinguish the life of the planet, it merely evolves and adapts.  The power of life and love is balanced against the corrosive and corrupting power of the dark side.
