Dave Filoni talks Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir

Dave Filoni, supervising director of The Clone Wars, gave some details about the upcoming comic Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir on his Facebook today. The arc of episodes that the comic will be based on was far enough in development that there was already a lot of design done, along with finalized scripts. Filoni turned all of that over to Dark Horse Comics to help them get as close to the vision for the episodes as possible.

Filoni also clarifies again that this wasn’t intended to be the series finale of The Clone Wars as many sites originally reported. In fact, he mentions that one of the arcs in the upcoming ‘bonus content’ is what he views as the series finale. He doesn’t say if that bonus content arc is what was originally intended as the series finale, or if it’s a story that is suitable as one, similar to the last arc of Season Five. Either way, it’s exciting to know that in addition to the closure to Maul’s story in The Clone Wars that Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir will bring, fans will definitely be getting another finale in the bonus content.
