Today a new comic series has been announced at the New York Comic Con; Star Wars: Invasion. Set in 25 ABY, it will cover the Galfridian family on Artorias, a peaceful planet that is soon invaded by the Yuuzhan Vong, with one of the members of the family, Finn, being set on the path of the Jedi, though things don’t go so well for the rest of the family.
ComicBookResources has an interview with both Tom Taylor, writer of Invasion, and the artist for the new series, Colin Wilson. Taylor commented that Jacen, Jaina, and Anakin Solo will all be appearing with major roles in the series, as well as other Original Trilogy characters, except for Chewbacca, since he’s deceased at this time. Invasion will first appear on Starwars.com in May, with another online issue coming out in June, then it coming to actual comic books July 1st. You can view some of the art of the series, and excerpts, below:
This is certainly exciting, as many people have, in the past and present, wanted a comic set in the New Jedi Order era. This will no doubt be a thrilling series, and EUCantina will keep you up to date on any other news about it!
UPDATE: According to Newsarama’s DH Panel report, Invasion will be taking the place of Rebellion, which has been canceled.

It’s hilarious that the man editing this new series isn’t even a fan of the book series it takes place in. I know I’ve said I wanted more from this, but if you throw Luke, Leia, and the Solo kids into it, and you didn’t enjoy the original story, how are you not going to change things about it? I’m getting the same feeling Legacy gave me when I heard about it, and I could care less about it. I’ll give it a shot, but the Force is going to have to be with it I think….

Wow this is great news. I really enjoyed the issues of Legacy and Rebellion that Colin Wilson did pencils for. It’s really cool the DH have decided to take the plunge into NJO era comics and with a well respected writer such as Tom Taylor they seem to be really giving it a great chance of success. I cant wait.

my only question is Mara Jade Skywalker going to be in it I mean Luke Han and Leia are givens and so are the Solo kids but what about Mara she fought in the Yuuzhon Vong War too she is a member of the Skywalker/Solo family will she be in it too I would hope she has not been forgotten just beacuse she was killed off in May 2007 I mean Anakin Solo has been dead longer and he will be featureed so why not Mara too
