Details for Battlefront Hand-Held Game Leaked

Lucasarts has kept silent about the future of one of the best selling series it has: Battlefront. Recently, rumors about the fate of a third game in the series have been numerous, but Lucasarts itself has stayed quite idle regarding anything on the series’ future.

However, thanks to ESRB ratings, we can possibly confirm that Lucasarts will be publishing a new hand-held game for the Battlefront series, entitled Battlefront: Elite Squadron. According to ESRB, we can expect Battlefront: Elite Squadron for the PSP as well as the DS.  Official rating and descriptions read:

Content descriptors: Fantasy Violence
Rating summary: “This is an action game in which players experience different battles from the Star Wars universe. Presented in a third-person perspective, the game allows players to engage in space, land, and air battles or build troops and upgrade armies in a strategy-based mode. Players can use laser guns (i.e., blasters), explosives, and lightsabers to destroy enemy robots (i.e., droids) and humans who often cry out in pain when attacked. During one dramatic cutscene sequence, an unarmed man is sliced by a lightsaber, while another character is shot in the back with a blaster.”

We hope to hear more about the these games, as well as Battlefront III, at the upcoming E3 event expo, which Lucasarts will be attending.
