Following the recent ESRB leak of Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron, LucasArts has officially announced the game. This new game in the Battlefront series will allow a player to start the battle on land, take to the skies in a vehicle, and dogfight in space! A system much like Battlefront 3 was rumored to have.
The character customization found in Renegade Squadron will also be greatly expanded upon, giving players many more options to choose from. Every aspect of your character will be customizable, such as weapons, armor, species, gender, appearance, physical strength and hundreds of other unlockable items and bonuses. Fans will also be excited to hear that the "Heroes and Villains" mode is now back.

Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron will ship out this fall on the PSP and DS handheld systems. The PSP version will include 16-player online matches complete with stat tracking and the DS will have 4-player skirmishes.

The game, set after the end of The Clone Wars, will revolve around the clone a Jedi Master:
Gamers assume the identity of X2, a clone trooper created from the DNA of a Jedi Master. Originally tasked with eliminating Jedi during Order 66, X2 decides to leave his blood-stained past behind and joins the Rebellion. X2 isn’t the only Force-sensitive clone, however. X1, his clone brother, chooses a much more sinister path, leading to a confrontation that could determine the fate of both the Empire and the Rebellion.

Setting the game in this time period allows LucasArts to combine some OT and PT elements while still staying true to the Star Wars timeline. For example, V-19 Torrent fighters could be used alongside TIE fighters. In previous Battlefront games, each battle had to be fought in a "separate timeline."

will be escape pods when you are inside a capital ship and then your capital ship is destroyed…while your ship its falling you will be able toescape in a escape pod and land and continue the fight on foot?????????????
