FOTJ Paperback Cost Increasing

Posted October 5th, 2009 by Andrew

According to Executive Editor Sue Rostoni, the Fate of the Jedi novel series will be the first to see an upgrade to a premium paperback. The advantage? Well, it’s bigger and it costs $9.99. At this point, Fate of the Jedi novels are the only ones slated to have this style when they are released as paperbacks, but it could be changing for all Star Wars novels. Keep reading for a quote from Sue herself on the price increase.

They’re making the books a little larger and calling them “premium” paperbacks — they’re 3/4? taller and a touch wider. Seems to be the trend in paperbacks now. I don’t know yet whether this change is for all our paperbacks, or just the FotJ ones…

A very interesting development, for sure. Last year we saw the first Star Wars novel released as a Trade Paperback and now we will see yet another new format. I can’t say it bothers me, I just find it interesting they have chosen to take this approach. We will be sure to let you know if other novels get this treatment as well.
