According to gaming site Kotaku, Battlefront III may be history, but their sources tell them that a new Battlefront game is tentatively slated for 2011. The game? Battlefront: Online.
As the name suggest, the Xbox 360 & PS3 game would be an online-only game and is currently in pre-production. The game is currently being developed by both Lucasarts and Slant Six Games, and, due to it being in pre-production, may share the same fate as Battlefront III and never see the light of day. At this point, it is only a rumor and we will contact Lucasarts and see what they have to say about the rumor. Until then, let us know what you think about this possibility in the comments!
