Hidden in a blog post on StarWars.com, Sue Rostoni dropped the name of Joe Schreiber’s second Star Wars novel: Black Orchid. While discussing her average day at the office, she makes note of the following email conversation with Shelly Shaprio:
email string: Discussion with Shelly Shapiro at Del Rey regarding the title to Joe Schreiber’s new SW novel. Should it be THE BLACK ORCHID or BLACK ORCHID. We settle on STAR WARS: BLACK ORCHID.
As previously stated, Black Orchid will be a hardcover stand-alone title and is not a direct sequel to Schreiber’s last novel, Death Troopers. It is a prequel, of sorts, and the characters are not going to be those seen in Death Troopers. The book is currently slated for release on October 5, 2010.
