The Old Republic Hitting Between April & June 2011

The Old Republic

Bioware’s upcoming MMO epic, Star Wars: The Old Republic, is one of the most eagerly awaited games, Star Wars or not, of all time. When it was announced that it would be shipping sometime in Spring 2011, fans were able to finally pin-down a timetable of having to wait.

Well, thanks to yet another conference call, a more specific timetable for the upcoming game can be given. During EA’s fourth-quarter earnings conference call, CEO John Riccitiello made a reference to The Old Republic saying that it would “not be in EA’s fiscal 2011.” What does that mean? It means the game, because we know it will be released in the Spring of 2011, will hit between April and June 2011. The 2011 fiscal year for EA ends on March 31, 2011 and, therefore, the game would hit right after that date.
