Just finished the book This was better then Omen and much longer Golden still makes me made at times but this is a lot better then Omen.
Liked Ben/Vestara scenes a little rushed considering the last book but enjoyable for the most part I am curious where this is going Ben goes through all kinds of feelings during this book in regards to Vestara and it is more then obvious that Vestara has a huge crush on Ben and it is in conflict with her duty to her tribe this will truly become interesting when Ben and Vestara are fighting on opposite sides again and I am actually looking forward to that which would not have said a year ago
Gavar Khai I enjoy Vestara and her manipulative nature but her dad is just plain evil love this guy he might be a Darth Vader like challenge for Ben we will see but I can’t wait to see what Gavar does next he is awesome.
Luke Great as usual for the most part he is still the best at what he does he is understandably distrustful of Vestara and the Sith in general loved his scenes with Ben, Abeloth, and Mara the Mara scene was just priceless Luke is still the best and he proves it yet again in this book.
Tahri’s Trail is interesting and for the first time since the New Jedi Order Series she is truly a sympathetic character that has been missing in my mind for a long time she has truly gone through one Hell after another since Anakin died and it has finally caught up with her I have an idea where this is going but we will see.
The siege of the Jedi Temple I know it screams another Jedi Purge but hay this will be interesting to see in Vortex lets see if Kenth Hamner has some guts for once and besides I think Daala has finally lost it I have been waiting for that for far to long good to see good the old stupid detestable warlord from the Jedi Academy Trilogy I missed her.
Disliked the Slavery storyline and the news stuff they felt like filler to me and the news stuff kind of sucked for the same reason I think the slave story has potential but that remains to be seen whether it makes a difference or not in the overall story.
I really hate to do this because I like this character a lot and I am usually in her corner but yes I have to say I did not like what was done with Jaina Solo I won’t spoil but lets just say I hated what happens with her in this book I think Golden just does not know what to do with her really I was ecstatic after what happened with her in Omen and now I am just wondering where this character is going and it is very frustrating and sad in my eyes I want a direction for her before Fate of the Jedi is over I do not want to wait for the series fallowing this one that is all I am going to say.
Overall 4 0f 5 stars it loses one because of what happened with Jaina Solo.
Still a vast improvement over Omen but Golden still managed to anger me she is way better then Karen Traviss but is she too much better I can’t say just yet.
