In honor of “Star Wars: Galaxies’” fifth birthday, Lucasarts and Sony Online have announced a new cardgame based on the game entitled “Star Wars Galaxies: Champions of the The Force,” which will be released “Summer 2008″ for current and active Galaxies players. It’s the first ever online cardgame. Here’s a short description of the game:

“Now the Galactic Civil War continues on a whole new playing field with the introduction of the Star WarsStar Wars® trading card game is available exclusively to Star Wars Galaxies subscribers* as part of their valid subscription to the game.”
