Qui-Gon Jinn is going to appear in future episodes of The Clone Wars, and Liam Neeson is returning to Star Wars to provide the voice of the character he portrayed in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. Entertainment Weekly broke the news, informing fans that Neeson will be featured in the episodes that air on January 28 and on February 11. The deceased Jedi Master will appear in visions to his former apprentice, Obi-Wan Kenobi. As revealed in Star Wars Insider 123, these episodes will be a part of the Mortis trilogy; a story centered around Anakin’s destiny as the Chosen One.

Qui-Gon speaks with Obi-Wan
Some may be surprised that Liam Neeson would be willing to return to Star Wars after the poor reception that Episode I has received from the media over the past decade. Neeson tells EW,
“These characters resonate…even after all these years…Growing up, my heroes were cowboys; they were strong and mysterious, and it seemed like they always rode off into the sunset. For kids today, Star Wars has that same kind of magic. I really wanted to be a part of that.”
The episode titles for Qui-Gon’s appearances are “Overlords” and “Altar of Mortis”. EW provides an exclusive clip of Jinn speaking with Obi-Wan.

It is totally awesome to see Qui-Gon in the clone wars. This season is truly back on track after all those political episodes. As they say it not how u start but how u finish and the clone wars is looking to be shaping up to finsh very strong indeed. However I see why they chose to do it that way after what happen in witches of the mist and it made sense and made u feel a greater sense of emotion when that character dies
After my first initial thought, AWESOME!!!, something made me take another look. At the end of Revenge of the Sith, both the novel and movie, Obi-Wan is shocked to hear Yoda knows how to communicate with Qui-Gon. Now we havent seen these episodes yet, so it may as they say just be a vision, but could this end up being another retcon issue?
