Comic Book Resource recently sat down with Clone Wars movie, television, and comic writer Henry Gilroy (Seen above) to discuss the comics, which start coming out next month. Here’s an excerpt:
In addition to Anakin, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka, the “Clone Wars” comic also features Yoda and a clone trooper named Captain Rex. “I wanted to stay clear of certain things that Dave was doing in the series, so I couldn’t put in Padme like I wanted to, but otherwise Lucasfilm gave me a lot of freedom with it,” Gilroy said. “There’s also a brand new race of aliens and their homeworld we will be introduced to, the galaxy’s perennial slavers called the Zygerrians.”
Be sure to read the entire interview here for an interesting discussion as well a way to learn more about the upcoming “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” comics series as well as the quarterly Clone Wars digests.
Our good friend Eddie wrote us to let us know that “Rebel Force,” the first of an apparent new Scholastic “Star Wars” outing, is going to be written by author Alex Wheller. At least, that’s what the book’s Amazon.co.uk page says. Not much is known about the book, other than its description and its length, which is 176 pages. According to Amazon, it’s due out in January and the author isn’t Alex Wheller (on the page, anyway), but according to Amazon.co.uk it’s due out in December and the author is Wheller, so we’ll try and get you some information about this young adult book and perhaps start of a new Scholastic series.
Gametrailers.com brings you the eighth episode of their incredibly popular Star Wars Video Game Retrospective, meant to flow in to the upcoming “Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.” This time around they discuss Star Wars: Galaxies, the only SW MMO. You can view it below. Enjoy! If you’d like to watch episodes 1-7, head here.
Well, at least in reading form. Today sees the release of three of the multimedia items surrounding “The Force Unleashed.” First is the hardback, 336 page novelization of the game written by Sean Williams for $20.00. Second is the graphic novel written by Haden Blackman, who wrote the game’s story, and drawn by Brian Ching, Bong Dazo, and Wayne Nichols, that tells the story of the Secret Apprentice through the eyes of his droid side-kick, Proxy for $15.59. Lastly is the Making Of The Force Unleashed, also written by Haden Blackman. So, for those of you who want to know what happens with Starkiller before you play the game, check these out!
EU fans everywhere rejoice! Nathan P. Butler, creator of the popular Star Wars: Timeline Gold, Star Wars Fanworks.com, and author of the comic “Equals and Opposites,” announced this today on his site:
“Since the end of ChronoRadio in May 2007, we have constantly been asked when or if the series would return. Series creator and Fanworks founder Nathan P. Butler always answered that the series was over and not likely to be resurrected.
With Star Wars being reinvigorated by The Clone Wars, The Force Unleashed, and other major recent events, Butler could not help himself but choose to include much more Star Wars content on his current podcast, The Butlerniverse.
In an unusual turn of events, though, Butler has decided to create a group of “subseries” for The Butlerniverse to cover different kinds of material. Star Wars continuity material, the heart and soul of ChronoRadio (2002 - 2007) has been given its own subseries of The Butlerniverse, known as . . . ChronoRadio: Series 2.
So, fans of the classic fan-made radio show can sit back and enjoy ChronoRadio’s return as a part of the Butlerniverse podcast series.”
You can download the first episode of ChronoRadio: Series 2, which is a review of the recently released Clone Wars movie, here and also listen to the previous 29 episodes of the Buterniverse here. EUCast is no longer the only EU-based podcast on the web, and it’s great to see!
