For a few weeks now, rumors about the possible “Fate Of The Jedi” book series have been appearing on forums, and even in the comment section on EUC where the book was announced. Right now, all we have is Amazon’s entry and Sue telling EUC that she can’t say anything about it yet and that they can’t count pages for a book that hasn’t been written yet. However, as stated above, there are still rumors galore right now about the possible series all around the web. Club Jade.net has a full run-down of the rumors surrounding the possible “Fate of the Jedi” series, which can be seen here. Check it out if you’d like to put your speculation hat on, and then head over to the “Fate of the Jedi” thread on our forums to discuss with fellow fans these rumors.

The Official SW site updated this evening with a first look, which was a blurb and the cover, as seen above, at author James Luceno’s upcoming title “Millenium Falcon.” Here’s the first part of the blurb:

“Two years have passed since the defeat of Darth Caedus, the former Jacen Solo. For a grieving Han and Leia, the shadow of their son’s tragic downfall still looms large. But Jacen’s own bright and loving daughter, Allana, offers a ray of hope for the future as she thrives in her grandparents’ care. The eager, inquisitive and Force-strong girl makes a curious discovery aboard her grandfather’s beloved spacecraft — the much-overhauled but ever-dependable Millennium Falcon. The Solo family then finds itself at a new turning point, about to set out on an odyssey into uncertain territory, untold adventure, and unexpected rewards.”

You can read the entire first look here at SW.com. You can also feel free to discuss Millenium Falcon, due ot this October as a hardcover, on our message boards here.

Our friend Eddie let us know that in an interview with Del Rey for “The Clone Wars” Ms. Karen Traviss stated that:

” I’m concentrating wholly on military and political fiction for the foreseeable future. I’m having a wonderful time working on Gears of War, which is a profoundly intelligent and well-created universe about a squad of soldiers in a post-apocalyptic world — yes, there are chainsaw rifles, but it’s also very smart stuff - and I’m continuing the Republic Commando series in Imperial Commando books. There are a few other SW books in the pipeline too, including a Boba Fett one. In my creator-owned work, I’m writing a political thriller series about mercenaries, set in the very near future . I’ll also be doing some comics work, which is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. So, no vacation for a few years….or sleep….!”

That’s awesome! We’ll keep you updated on the Imperial Commando novels, Boba Fett book, and Karen’s other SW works. Until now, check out her interview with Del Rey here. Thanks again, Eddie!

Today sees the release of Karen Traviss’ novelization of the upcoming movie. With a more adult look of the movie, the novel is hardcover and has two hundred and seventy two pages. You can buy it now for $20.00 at your local bookstore.

Karen Traviss recently gave a hint on the plot of her upcoming fourth installment of the Republic Commando series, Order 66, on her website. She stated on her site (In white text for those not interested in spoilers):

Tiny spoiler to keep you going; the book’s time line extends into the Imperial era...

Very, very interesting. What could this mean? Well, it’s up to us fans to speculate, and speculate we shall! Go ahead and discuss this interesting note on our message boards here. The fourth novel in Ms.Traviss’ highly acclaimed Republic Commando series is due out in hardback on September 16.

KarenTraviss.com was updated today with the following:

“Site updated July 9 2008
NEWS - new series, new books, new covers

Yes, there is a NEW SERIES out this month, and judging by the mail I’m getting,
folks don’t seem to realise what it is. There’s a NEW FIVE-BOOK STAR WARS SERIES for
adult readers based on the Clone Wars movie and TV cartoon show, and I’m writing
three of them. But because the movie and the TV show are for the youngsters, and I
write adult fiction, then you can deduce that the novels will show you stuff you
won’t see on screen. (This is separate from the young adult books that are also
being published. )

CLONE WARS, the hardcover based on the movie - loosely based, so no griping that
it’s different, because that’s the whole point - is out on July 26. Full of the
gritty, off-message, character-testing, question-raising, grey-area,
military-oriented stuff you’ve come to expect from me. And clones. Plenty of clones.
And familiar characters from the movies that you won’t see quite the same way ever
again.

My good buddy Karen Miller is writing the other two novels. She doesn’t write
predictable books either, so stand by for a challenging series that will make you
take another fresh look at the Clone Wars. “

Sounds like we can expect for the novels to go away from the children aspect of the TV series. Should be interesting!

Thanks to Zee Zee for the tip.
