Sadly, this feature wasn’t updated last week, but we have a great treat for you this week. Last week, Spike TV gave the first of it’s official announcements for the upcoming LA game, The Force Unleashed. For you this week we have the announcement itself and new footage from the game that aired on Spike. Enjoy!

Remember, each week we look for fun, exciting and interesting EU-inclined videos. If you have one you like, send us an e-mail or PM our Youtube account.

Our friend Zee Zee sent us a this about SW Book’s latest editorial for the EUC readers:

The article is titled “Always in motion is the future” and can be found here
http://www.swbooks.co.uk/articles/editorials/always-in-motion-is-the-future.htm.
Using Mike’s data, I argue that Star Wars book fans need Luke, Leia and Han to get
involved in big galactic wars as they are less likely to be interested in stories
where “the Big Three” are not featured and more inclined not to be conversant with
the key plot points of these books.” And it concludes that: “As Star Wars book fans
we relish stories that feature our three heroes, not only do more of us read the
books but we are substantially more aware of their plot points. So what does this
mean for the future for Luke, Leia and Han? Unfortunately, it means that even after
seventeen years of continuous storytelling, we are still not sick of them and they
will have to continue getting involved in big galactic wars for a while longer
because if they are not a part of the story, then we are less likely to be
interested in the story and, which is worse still, we will be not be as fully
conversant with the key plot points!”

Before posting this article I contacted Mike for permission to use the survey data
in this way and to ask for his advice, opinions and suggestions on my argument. I am
grateful to Mike for the time he gave in answering my questions and for his comments
(some of which have been included in the article).

So, go ahead and check the very interesting article on SW Book.co.uk.

Then check out RebelTradingpost.com!

They have quite a few Expanded Universe items, including the fifth book of the Rogue Squadron series, Wraith Squadron, by Aaron Allston. Additionally, the ever popular Knights Of The Old Republic video game (Xbox) for only 12 dollars is available for bidding. So, check those and more our at Rebel Trading Post.

Also, while you’re over there check out their podcast, The Sarlacc Pit, which EUCast has worked with. They also have “The Great EU Debate of ‘08″ available for download, so feel free to check that out as well.

This week we’re going back in time a little for the New Jedi Order. The video is called “The New Jedi Order Mix,” and is a tribute to the book series. Some images are from Legacy Of The Force, but the movie does a wonderful job at showing the approaching darkness that the Jedi Order faces before the NJO series.

Remember, we are always looking for EU tributes or just interesting videos, so be sure to e-mail us a link to staff@eucantina.net or send our Youtube channel a PM with the video. We try to have them go with a topic or event that is popular during the week.

By now, you’ve probably all heard the rumors of Celebration V next year coming out of Jedi Con in Germany. Apparently, it will be in Chicago or a farther east Midwest city in 2009. Now, this is is wonderful news for all Star Wars fans, but how does it effect Expanded Universe buffs specifically?
Well, if it’s like Celebration IV, it’s a very good thing. A store with early releases, authors signing books, video game previews and announcements, and most likely a look at one of the TV series. So, while Celebration V rumors aren’t exactly EU news, it does have a positive backing for EU fans.

It’s Friday, which means it’s time for another installment of “EU Video of the Week” feature. This week, largely due to the fact we’ll be interviewing the lead designer of Kotor II, we have MaggOnasi’s “Your’s to Hold (Atton and the Exile),” a tribute to the relationship between Atton Rand and the Jedi Exile in the video game Knights Of The Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. Enjoy!

This week’s video of the week is something that really goes with the current book series. Jacen Solo and Tenel Ka have always been good pals. (and more, if you’ve read the current book series.) However, their relationship has been strained in recent books. Below is a wonderful fan video for them by HanLeiaLuke called “Jacen Solo & Tenel Ka.” Remember, each Friday we will have a new video, so feel free to PM us on Youtube or e-mail us with suggestions. Enjoy!

As mentioned last week in our updates, we will be starting a feature called “EU Video Of The Week.” The EUC staff will go around Youtube looking for videos, posting comments, and more on EU inclined videos. This week, from glitch200, we have “Revan & Bastila-Whispers;” a tribute to them set to the Christian rockband Skillet’s “Whispers in the dark.” Enjoy!

Remember, we’re always looking for good EU videos, so feel free to e-mail us (staff@eucantina.net) any idea or PM our Youtube channel (EU Cantina) with them.
