Well, that didn’t take long. Tonight Lucasarts opened their Clone Wars site. Under the “Game Info” page you can find all the information regarding both games: The Clone Wars: Jedi Alliance (DS) as well as Star Wars: The Clone Wars–Lightsaber Duels (Wii). On the site you will find images, news, as well as a chance to sign-up for the latest updates of the game.

According to the site, the games will be out in the “Holiday ‘08.” Check it all out, including two new screenshots, here! Also, they gave word that on Spike TV GGTV “Announcement” will be the trailer for the games so be sure to check that on Friday night.

So, we all knew that Lucasarts was making a video game for “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.” But did you know they were making two!

That’s right, according to IGN the first is a DS hand-held exclusive entitled ” Star Wars The Clone Wars: Jedi Alliance,” it apparently thrusts you into a new storyline branch from the Clone Wars universe and challenges you to use your stylus to wield your deadly lightsaber. Head over to IGN’s interview with Lucasarts’ Feargus Carroll to learn more about the gameplay and events behind the game.

The second game, entitled “Star Wars: The Clone Wars–Lightsaber Duels,” is a Nintendo Wii exclusive which allows you to play the duels of the Clone Wars, as seen above, with the Wii-mote. For more, check out this interview on IGN with Krome Studios’ Ken Fox here. For more on Wii controls of TCW–Lightsaber Duels, see Iron Fist’s post below.

To wrap it up, we’re going to see two video games for The Clone Wars; one will be based on the movie/series itself (TCW:–Lightsaber Duels), while the other will use the characters but set them in a different story during the Clone Wars (The Clone Wars: Jedi Alliance.) Keep your eyes open for more on the two games’ official site.

“This in from IGN via Kotaku. It appears that the Clone Wars game on the Nintendo Wii may not have the sort of lightsaber controls that fans may be looking for.

The promise of a Wii Lightsaber game has hung in the air since the Wii hit the shelves. We think this is the game that delivers on that promise”. That’s Ken Fox, from Krome Studios, developers of the upcoming Clone Wars game for the Wii. Excited? Cool those jets. He also says this: “We’ve tried to make the lightsaber control as intuitive and fun as possible. It’s not a Lightsaber simulator, but when you swing your Wii remote left to right; your character does the same. You use the thumbstick on the nunchuck to move your character and swing the Wii remote to swing your Lightsaber”.

It looks like we’ll have something similar to The Force Unleashed in terms of controls although it seems that the correlation between “Wiimote” movements and lightsaber attacks has been dimished.

As we reported last week, Lucasarts will be publishing a video game based on the upcoming Star Wars: The Clone Wars series for the Wii and DS. (As of right now.) We were told to check Clone Wars Game.com for updates, and we did.

If you haven’t already noticed, if you head over to www.theclonewarsgame.com now you will no longer be directed to SW.com. Instead you will get a Lucasarts mini-site for the upcoming Clone Wars game stating, “Check back at the end of this month to find out more.”

Currently, it’s just the image of Obi-Wan and Anakin we saw on the ad with the promise aforementioned. (A smaller image of which can be seen above.) We’ll keep you updated on the site as well as the game itself. Until then, you can discuss the game here with Lucasarts Administrator “girljournalist,” who let me know that the site was online.

Back in February, we reported that Nintendo will be making a game tie-in for the upcoming Star Wars: The Clone Wars movie. Reports are now saying it will be a Wii and DS exclusive that will be released this fall, all based on an advert seen in the Prima Guide for the upcoming Indiana Jones Lego game. The ad can be seen above, thanks to IGN; click on the thumbnail for a larger image. More information and speculation for the game can be read on IGN here.

We’re told to keep an eye on CloneWarsGame.com for more information in the future by the ad itself, although currently it redirects to starwars.com. It seems like Lucasarts isn’t quite ready for us fans :D

Also, if readers recall, Jedi News did get a confirmation that Anthony Daniels was working on a tie-in video game for The Clone Wars, so I guess we will hear him in this.
