Our good friend Gary from Galatic Voyage sent us the amazing news that on Friday, November 14 GV turned nine years old! He writes:

Today we at Galactic Voyage are celebrating our 9th Anniversary! I started the site on November 14 back in the last century (1999). Thank you to all the Star Wars fans who have come and enjoyed Galactic Voyage these many years! It has been been a pleasure. I hope that Galactic Voyage will continue to grow and prosper in 2009. With all the new Clone Wars episodes, it looks to be a good year to come. Now for what is a little different. I have added a new section called Star Wars Reviews to the Movies section. More information to come in the next article. I hope you will enjoy them!

Congrats, guys!

You hear her name all the time on EUC, now we talk to the women, the myth, the editor: Sue Rostoni of Lucas Licensing. We will be talking to Ms Rostoni about upcoming Star Wars novels and other little details about being the editor of the books we love.

Please feel free to send in your questions to mailbag@eucantina.net (with the subject line “Questions for Sue”) or placing them in this thread by Sunday, November 16 at 12:00 PM EST.

We’d like to thank everyone who sent in questions for James, and we look forward to our next interview.

James Luceno has seen it all: From the first moments of Vader’s life to the defeat of the Vong, Luceno was there to show it all to many, many readers. James is author of many Star Wars novels including Dark Lord: Rise of Darth Vader, The New Jedi Order: Unifying Force, the recent Millennium Falcon and many more. Now, Mr. Luceno joins Andrew L. in a special two part interview discussing everything from his old works to his new.

You can check out the interview by hitting “Interviews” and clicking Mr. Luceno’s name or by clicking this link. Enjoy the interview! You can discuss it here.

Hello, everybody! On the forums, one of our moderators, Darth Skuldren, has been updating the thread directories in all the forums, such as the characters and media forums. These thread directories are put together to help guide you to the threads discussing your favorite topics. This week, we also see the return of the Editorials here at EUCantina.net with the return of the Jundland Wastes Wizard’s Corner! Chris P. wrote a piece concerning his thoughts on TFU and its role in Star Wars continuity. Be sure to check both these updates out.

UPDATE: We’ve also got a review by Darth Skuldren for Millennium Falcon which can be found here. Be sure to check it out, but beware of some spoilers.

EU Cantina is proud to announce that starting Sunday, October 26 readers will have the chance to ask Star Wars author James Luceno questions about any of his works, including the recently released “Millennium Falcon.” You can send in the questions to mailbag@eucantina.net with the subject line “Question(s) for James Luceno” or ask them in this thread on our forums.

We will send the questions to Mr. Luceno on Monday, November 3, so please have all questions in by 12:00 PM EST that day. If it’s too specific for the general interview, we will still ask it, but the reply will be sent to the reader who asked personally. Thanks and we look forward to asking your questions!

A year ago (well, a year ago and two days, really) EU Cantina.net, as well its podcast EUCast, were unleashed upon the internet! Many news posts, a few interviews, some fun events and a book series later EU Cantina.net is still looking bright. Who do we, the staff, of EU Cantina.net have to thank for that? Well, the loyal readers of the site, the people who send us news or help us out. I believe I can speak for the entire staff of EUC in saying that without help from fans of the Expanded Universe, as well as our friends and affiliates, none of this could be possible and for that we humbly thank all all EU fans out there!

Now, you may have noticed a little changed in color around EUC; just as the leaves of trees turn in fall to mark the end of summer, so does EU Cantina.net. The EUC Blue Summer has ended, but TFU, TCW and all that we celebrated live on. Being a part of those events, and the TV series, has been a truly amazing experience. EU Cantina will be going back to brown and tan, but you will notice that some pages have been consolidated, flash has been removed from the side-bar, countdowns are being placed for major EU works, and other great things are coming to EUC, including a Site Update post each Friday recapping everything that went on behind the scenes (Reviews put up, pages changed, etc.).

Again, thanks for a wonderful first year, and on behalf of the entire EU Cantina Team, may the force be with all EUC readers…always

Recently, one of EUCantina.net’s book reviewers, Tom Pniewski aka Kal Skirata in the forum’s and blog, has finished reviewing Republic Commando: Order 66. He briefly goes over the start of the story, some key motives, and encourages you to read the book (RTB). Be sure to check out the review on the EU Chronology reviews page here. Again, beware of some small spoilers included for the beginnings of the story.

Actress Ashley Eckstein recently was seen in “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” movie as well as “The Clone Wars” series as the new character of Ashoka Tano, the Jedi apprentice of Anakin Skywalker. Mrs. Eckstein recently sat down with Andrew L. to discuss everything Clone Wars– the movie, series, and more!

You can check out the interview by hitting “Exclusive” then “Interviews” followed up by clicking on Ashley’s name. Enjoy the interview and be sure to check out Ashley tonight on the third episode of The Clone Wars, “Shadow of Malevolence.”

Also, be sure to check out SW.com with Ashley’s working partner, Matt Lanter aka Anakin here.

As the United States presidential election comes ever closer to a conclusion, The EUCantina.net will hold its own election. You get to pick who you would want to be in control of the galaxy!

Over the next few days you will see the candidates. There will be two from our three parties. Jedi, Sith, and Independent. After all candidates have been presented, voting will open to choose one nominee from each category. Voting will be open for a week. When a nominee from each party has been picked, surprises from the canditates will appear all over the site. More information will be announced as that time comes closer.

On the same day as election day in the US, you can come online and vote for your President of the Galaxy! We look forward to seeing the best candidate win.

EU Cantina.net is proud announce two new members to its ever-growing staff: William D. (Master Devwi) and Eddie H. (Eddie). Both William and Eddie will be posting news here on EUC and no doubt adding to the quality of our site.

We’d also like to let you know that Stephen H. (Darth Skuldren) has written a very interesting review for the second novel in the Coursucant Nights series, Streets of Shadows. You can access the review by heading to the EU Chronology page, or Book Section, and hitting “Reviews.” Enjoy!
