Overall it was a very entertaining read. I felt the perfect mix of humor to deflect the seriousness. My favorite joke was Winter's comment about women and pilots.

I loved seeing the old rogues and wraiths even if it was only briefly. And the description of the eta-5, a cross of an eta-2 and an A-wing. (I am a sucker for visually picturing things in my head).

I also enjoyed the imperial knights foreshadowing with Jag wanting a Jedi school/presence in the Imperial Remnant, I mean Galactic Empire.

My only concerns were Jag and Jaina having such and open relationship in front of other jedi and associates, I felt their being together could have a negative impact on Jag's role. No snap-hiss in the whole book. Why no Corran Horn - I mean in I, Jedi he showed how far he would go for the people he loves.

Still a great start, and lots of fun to read.

The thing with Jag doing whatever was kind of hard to believe considering his position.... but I still found it a very enjoyable book. The relationship of Ben and Luke throughout it all was very well done. The humour was also great - Ben inhaling the helium at the end was just awesome.

And who else thinks Tahiri being a bounty hunter is an EPIC WIN?!?!

yes the jaina jag thing was kindve a cop-out. It was hastily done and I think it was more just thrown in to please fans of the relationship, but I liked it. I do agree that it seemed too casual though. And Luke and Ben's interaction was great!

One could argue that Palpatine still found time to wander off to his treasure world or visit the Prophets of the Darkside while being Emperor of the Galaxy leaving who knows what in charge. Thus I think it's okay for Jag to disappear as well from time to time. He just spends his free time a little differently.

First off I did enjoy it, although I have mixed feelings. It just seemed so different. Maybe I just miss Mara and Jacen. I don't know.

One of my favourite scenes was Luke and Daala's conversation and, really, the whole Jedi/GA conflict. Although I'm with the Jedi on this one: You gotta do the good thing regardless of the rules.

I liked how they replenished the list of bounty hunters in this era, because aside from Boba Fett I can't think of anyone.

About the three plotlines:
Couruscant: my personal favourite.
Dorrin: Pretty good. Ben and Luke were awesome.
Kessel: My least favourite of the three.

Seha's back! I would've liked to see more of her, though.

My favourite line:"I'm too young to be harping about the old days." Haha. I can totally relate.

And finally, didn't it seem like a standalone? Aside from the voice Allana heard, and Valin I can't think of anything that can carry into the next books. I hope they aren't all like that.

Yeah I learned my lesson with LoTF, I am waiting to see what does and does not carry over into the next book. I hope we get to see more of Wedge and the gang but that seems unlikely to me.
