Discuss anything related to Luke Skywalker's character here. Keep in mind possible spoilers when wishing to discuss new developments in new releases.

My favorite character, I'm just hoping he doesn't die a violent death.

I'm also for a violentless death, but it seems a lot want him to go down the opposite way. If he went like Obi-Wan Kenobi, I'll be okay; but if he goes like Yoda, I'll fully appreciate whichever author does it

I don't think we'll see Skywalker's death in the Legacy novel series. He's needed to carry on the leadership of the Jedi until Ben can take over. If he dies before then, the Jedi will be turned over into utter chaos. Thus I think Luke will stick in there a while more.

But maybe Caedus's final act before he dies will be to kill Luke, for exactly that purpose. Krayt does say in Legacy that he distracted the Jedi . . . maybe this is how he mainly does (besides being a Sith).

That who distracted the Jedi? Jacen?

Oh, and by the way, Luke rocks. Very Happy

In a way, Jacen is distracting the Jedi, especially with how the Sith acted in Fury. I think Krayt will do even more Palpatine-like stuff afterwards as he starts to build up more and make his move...but that's still awhile away in the books...I think.

Should Luke Skywalker step down as the Jedi Grand Master? Are his "farmboy" sensibilities not giving the Masters enough lattitude to find their own ways? Or are they simply just going along with his decisions just because he is the foremost Jedi of the time? I just wanted to open up a debate and see other poeple's opinions on this.

Luke doesn't like being the Grand Master but when he leaves the order to may their own decisions, they get bogged down in debate that does more harm then good. Currently, this Order will continue to work only if one Jedi steps forward and everyone respects that Jedi to follow almost blindly. It's a dictatorship in the order but Luke is doing his best. I'm sure he'd love for someone to step forward and take the reins from him...not Jacen, though.

Know what would be interesting? If he became crippled by fighting Caedus or something like that, and he retired?

Luke, as I've stated before, is my favorite character of the SW Saga- EU or not. No author, thus far, has really messed him up, and I'm very thankful for that. He's wise, powerful, and always adds humor to something you'd least expect.

Luke used to annoy me (in the novels) to no end, but he has once again become one of my favorite characters. Although I do miss his farmboy self, the new and improved Luke Skywalker, baddest Jedi at the moment, really impresses. Smile

Did anyone like him in Courtship? He really annoyed me then.

That's my favorite book, and I didn't really pay attention to Luke. But I know that a friend of mine is very annoyed at how he's portrayed in that book.

The New Jedi Order and beyond is the Luke I really enjoy. He continues to surprise me in every recent book with what powers he has but only uses when they're necessary. I wasn't the biggest fan of him in books long ago, but the more recent authors have been nailing him each time, IMO.
