To Alaska I go!

Autobon Master Joined: 17 Apr 2008 Posts: 751 Location: Seattle, Washington Well everyone, I just want to let you know that I will be going to Alaska for 3 weeks. I leave tomorrow, June 20th, and get back on July 11th. Try not to miss me to much! I will try to post pictures every now and then, if I can connect to the internet.

I am using satellite internet out here..... since there is no city of town around for hundreds of miles...... crappy connection though, lol Anyways, there is no snow, and the temperature is a balming 45 degrees! Also... the sun doesnt really set, it just goes down a little to where it looks like late afternoon and then back up again. So for three weeks I am going to have to go without the night

I have some friends who went to Alaska about a year ago, and they showed pictures from 2 o'clock in the morning when it was still daylight. Hey, no worries about the satellite internet. You don't have to go to Alaska to have to use it! Where I used to live (which was only about 20 minutes from civilization) we had to have satellite internet. Not that we ever did, but it was the only option for internet other than dial-up. Oh, whatcha doing in Alaska? Just a vacation? So you know, torturing little kids and stuff, the usual. Why am I out in the middle of nowhere? That I have no idea. My sister begged me to go with her (she is also a counselor), so I did BTW, the misquitoes are rampant up here. I can swing my arm at any given moment and hit at least ten, no joke! There are always at least three on my computer screen, I gave up trying to get them off, lol. And thanks Aush!
