I used to love Lego Star Wars sets as a kid, but I stopped buying them shortly after Episode I came out. So I had the Naboo fighter, the Bongo, and the Sith Infiltrator ca. 1999, as well as the X-Wing, B-Wing, and Snowspeeder (also ca. 1999), but nothing after that.
That being said, I have a few simplified Star Destroyers that I made with loose pieces (maybe 12 pieces or so?), that sit in the office supplies drawer of my home office, ready to fight against my small Lego Enterprise (also homemade, just with maybe 20 or so pieces, and customizeable so that it can look like Enteprise NX-01, 1701, A, B, C, D, or E). I bring them out when the Missus is at work sometimes
When I was a kid, my parents preferred buying me LEGO buckets instead of sets, which were cheaper and allowed more imaginative control. I could build pretty much any OT-era starfighter, especially the ships from the game TIE Fighter (e.g. TIE Advanced, Assault Gunboat, etc.). I never really obeyed the color rule; as long as it was consistent within the ship, it didn't need to be accurate (e.g. my TIE Fighter was red, except the window, which was black, and the engine, which was blue.) _________________ It was the year of fire… the year of destruction… the year we took back what was ours.
It was the year of rebirth… the year of great sadness… the year of pain… and the year of joy.
It was a new age. It was the end of history. It was the year everything changed.
The year is 2261.
The place: Babylon 5.
