This has been a major issue in the United States for quite some time. Feel free to share you're own thoughts on the issue here (if it's even an issue, that is).

Enforce the law, send them back to where ever, build the huge fence and encourage any illegals that are deported to go through the proper channels and get here legally. Very Happy

Well, I agree with your thought, but I think that immigration shouldn't be thought about so negatively. People need to do things fairly and legally, but those legal avenues shouldn't be made harder for them. That's what causes illegal immigration.

Nobody made them harder, there were just more people trying to get in, thus causing ir harder to get in.

Well, I won't pretend I'm an expert on illegal immigration, so there's probably alot I don't know. I am assuming quite a bit based on what I hear in the news, from others, etc. Probably not the best way to get information. Laughing

If everyone's country was are, they'd only leave for business meetings (assuming ours is perfect, which it isn't because of the problems we face Smile).

I'm not just saying it's our country; we certainly do face our own issues. I'll elaborate: Mexico's citizens are unhappy with their government, not ours. Their government is insane right now, and they are coming here. That is just an example; it can be applied to many border issues in other countries.

It's not so much the government that Mexicans are fleeing, it's more like the promise that America represents, they also want a piece of the American dream...

I have nothing against immigration, nothing against the Hispanics coming over here. But I am very for them doing it the right way. It totally irks me the way they can come in and get free care and free whatever and all that stuff. I know a few people from Mexico who legally came over, and they aren't complaining about the woes of becoming a citizen and all that. Sure, it isn't the easiest thing in the world, but it is our country, not theirs. It shouldn't be an easy matter. The changing of the language from Wal-Mart to the local convenient store really has me up in arms. This is America, and we speak English. It's that simple. I recently went to Romania, and I didn't expect them to all speak English to me. And they didn't. I tried my best to learn what words I could and get along. I ordered a chocolate donut in Romanian. I used a translator for most things, but then I was only there for a few weeks. If I was going there to live, I would learn their language. Agh! Sorry...that's a sore spot for me. Down here in Louisiana everything is dubbed in Spanish. When I go to some websites of American companies and the first thing it asks me is, "English or Spanish", I get annoyed. Same with the phones. Grrr...

*walks away to calm down*

I do as wel,l but then get told I dislike Hispanics. Guess what: I took Spanish for six years and have a friend who came here from Mexico a few years ago and loves it.I am even a little Spanish. I have no problem at all with immigration; Mexican, Italian, Russian-- I don't care as long as they obey our laws and live peacefully.

I understand it takes awhile to become a citizen but doing it illegally just hurts other citizens.

SOS Mara I feel ya.

I too say if you want in come it- just DO IT RIGHT.

Hiding from the system robes the system and through it the people who have to pay for that system. If they don't want negativity work with the system. If it's broke- fix it don't just circumvent it because you can if you don't get caught- it leads to lawlessness and chaos.

I'm all from people immigrating to the US.....legally. And being told to "Press 1 for English" on the phone annoys me to no end.

Oh yeah! That ones beyond nuts- but half the time you are being transferred to another country. I hate that! Losing the house- and yet I have to play "what'd you say?" with the Indian-Hindu sounding person on the other end. My old work did the same with their HR dept. Boy did that get ugly fast- imagine trying to explain a medical situation to someone who barley understands u and u can't understand anything they are saying.

My grandfather was an illegal Mexican immigrant. If he hadn't come here and gotten legal status by marrying my Grandmother I'd have never happen. I have multiple friends of illegal status, all good hardworking taxpaying people, which is more than I can say for many of the american friends I have. Needless to say I state that we welcome all comers and I think as long as you work, speak english, and pay taxes you should be allowed here.
