Rouge77 Master Joined: 22 Mar 2008 Posts: 599 But Palpatine was over 50 when we first saw him (chronologically) in TPM. Give Jagged Fel another twenty years at the helm of the Empire and let's see what he is like then. After all, Legacy clearly shows that even if Jagged Fel wanted to change the Empire for good, he didn't succeed in it, and so the Empire must have changed him instead.

It's not his fault that he got stuck with the Imperial job, which Luke kind of threw on him. I think Jag really does want to make the Empire more better and legit, and just because he isnt charismatic and wonderful doesn't mean he should just die. Not every EU character can be funny or dynamic or likable-much like in the real world-there is going to be some stuffy, serious people that want to get things done. I would rather have Jag in charge of the Empire because he is not corrupted by power and he is very disciplined. Rouge77 Master Joined: 22 Mar 2008 Posts: 599 But then Jagged's greatest failure would be his own son. Anyway, he's probably safe for several decades in-universe. More safe than Jaina in my opinion. When Jaina has got few kids, DR will start planning her death.

FatalFist Knight Joined: 06 Sep 2008 Posts: 431 Location: Paksitan-LAhore haha...imho...Jacen wasnt a failure...he was wat got me reading SW agn However..the only person that i wish he hadnt killed was MJ=/...he was amazing albiet a little mad when he was a Sith=p Jag is just one of those characters.....Hes got an interesting background...but still for some reason .....A question...so If he rules the empire...then his son will.....how is that great....great ppl hav terrible sons at times=p The Empire is pure trouble....and pure oh so snobby....yea...and Jag is a snob=/ I hated the way evybody wud go...ooh look if the empire had been incharge they wudve quashed the Yuuzhan Vong...as if...a couple of rebels took them down. __ sry fr the rant=p... _________________

In the manner that they were ready to sent the younger one to his death, never went to rescue the elder one even when Leia was certain that Jacen lived and afterwards they supported Jacen's murder. In that manner both of their sons are their greatest failure.

And if we remember NJO, they haven't had a stellar relationship with Jaina either. Of course, coming back to Fels, their record (6 children, 3 dead in their teens and early adulthood) isn't great either. But Solos lead with 66 % death rate to Fels' 50 %.

For one to have 2 dead children makes them a failure as parents? I have to disagree there. Often it is the child's fault in the end, and absolutely nothing the parents could have done would have changed the outcome. There could have been little differences, but in Jacen's case, I highly doubt the Solos could have saved their son...at least not with the history of Jacen that they're painting now.
