Come on, the special effects ruled! Where was the budget for that in last season's finale? Ah yes, trademark Smallville episodes will always leaving you saying, "What the heck?" afterwards. As for the characters: Poor Chloe. The girl never seems to have a good day. Lois: more likable than usual. Not as abrasive. Oliver: come on, dude, really? Suck it up. And Clark: Ok, go ahead, have your little emo moment. Just get a new outfit when you're done, 'kay? I have no problem with strong female characters, but Lois wasn't fun and feisty. She was bossy and annoying. I'm liking her a lot better this season.
