Carter and Clinton have gotten the Nobel Peace Prize too, back in their reign. Seems like they just pick the WORST presidents to win them... Rolling Eyes

I actually laughed when I read that. Laughing
The fact that Barak Obama, as an African-American, was voted in as president is an accomplishment of America, I'll agree, but not of him as a person.

How does receiving the Noble Peace Prize humble you?

Well I'm sure being awarded an award like that for doing so little would be humbling Laughing

I agree- it was America that needed the change. They made the change, heck one could say the Regimen of Bush lead to the opening of America to that change.

Correction on what I said. Clinton never won it, but Carter still did, and so did Yasser Arafat. So the Nobel Peace Prize pretty much means nothing nowadays.

Isn't it interesting that Wednesday, CNN.com had this post:

http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/TV/10/07/snl.politics.obama/index.html?iref=newssearch

Now, Obama gets the Nobel Prize. I guess the "honeymoon" isn't over yet. Is it possible he got it as a consolation prize for Chicago losing the Olympics? <I'm being sarcastic people>

I don't get why he got and I believe it will go to his and his supporters heads. He will now use as a tool to get what HE wants. Damn democracy and "reaching across the isle."

It's sad, very sad indeed Sad

Well the Nobel Peace Prize winners our chosen by five Norwegian politicians, so their picking Obama is anyone's guess. The big response from just about everybody seems to be "for what?" because it's the truth. However, I think the interesting fact of the matter is that the Nobel Peace Prize is cheapened by awarding it to Obama when he has no accomplishments to show for it. Most people thought the award meant something.

Obviously we we're wrong.

I wonder if Obama will put his award with his two foot golden statue of himself. Now that would make a nice picture, little golden mini me Obama holding his Nobel Peace prize.

Perhaps he'll put them in his own Obama shrine. I'm sure he has one somewhere in the White House. He likes to go there, look in the full length mirror, and tell himself how awesome he is. Wink
