kurtdc Master Joined: 15 May 2008 Posts: 602 Location: boston I missed star wars weekend by a week and a half. The kids were still in school and I couldn't justify yanking them out for that(oh the responsibilities of adulthood). Regarding the gender issue that IR2 brought up. I have noticed a much more negative response from females("oh I just hate that crap"). At least guys who aren't SW fans will at least say "vader is cool". I have a sports station on at work most of the time, and the afternoon guys make star wars references all the time. Like if a caller calls in with a gripe and the hosts of the show change his mind by the end of the call, they call it the Jedi mind trick and play the clip from ANH "these aren't the droids you're looking for". It totally cracks me up every time.

Now I'm thinking we should stage a coup to take over Disney World and rename the Magic Kingdom "New Coruscant" (with the castle of course being the New Imperial Palace). I am in the same boat - I have work lined up as a freelancer for the next 4 months, but unless I find some permanent employment I can't justify the cost.
