By the time Jacen steps in, the galaxy has fallen into Lumiya's manipulations, both sides want peace, but can't get around the road blocks she's put up. Tragedy since people on both sides are dying, then Jacen's betrayal of the Jedi Order by being open to Sith teachings. Later his becoming Sith. Which he does in the belief of using those skills to help secure the lasting peace the galaxy needs.

Add to it the Jedi VS Sith bs that Mara became wrapped up in, once Jacen was revealed as a Sith blinders fell. This can be an issue, as with Jacen- had the Jedi been willing to work with a Sith- SERIOUSLY WORK WITH ONE- he'd not have needed to hide what he was doing. Had he not done that he might not have became estranged so from Luke and the Order.

But it is a tale of a fall that was a long time coming. If Luke had such issue with Jacen doing his 5 year thing then as Jacen's former Master he WAS responsible for speaking up and getting involved sooner- hence his own agreeing with Daala about a making an example to the rest of the Jedi looking up to the Knights and Masters above them.

That's another thing- Jacen's route was NOT easy, there could have been easier ways to bring a lasting Peace, but Jacen took the route that took the least amount of lives.......or so we're lead to believe.

Yep - I jumped on the clone theory as I watched the trailer. It would seem Vader was behind the cloning based on the narration.
