Hmmm pretty close contest, I guess I'll go with the odds of 6 to 4 that Judicar wins. Jedipoodoo could always surprise us though, its just the hesitation to pick a side brings into question whether the same thing might happen at a critical moment in the duel. Let the duel begin! *cues Duel of the Fates*

what doing it for kicks isn't enough of a reason for you? Or do you need a reason such as scuffing your speeder's paint job?

Hey! Come on! I should get better odds than that! Wink

I would say his being a Sith gives him the advantage in odds...the dark side has an offensive edge, and Sith have no restrictions in combat. While a Gray Jedi does have more leeway than a normal Jedi, they are still restricted in combat from using the full power of the Force.

Besides, Jedi don't worry about the odds...they don't believe in luck. Wink

Really? I thought Grey Jedi used both sides of the Force- that's why they aren't restricted to one side.

That certainly qualifies as a reason. Twisted Evil

Hmmm...Gray Jedi is a touchy subject. It's best defined by two of its more prominent members, Qui-Gon and Jolee Bindo. Mainly it seems they are defined by their defiance of the Jedi Council. They are very much 'independent' Jedi who adhere to the code but do as they see fit. They're rebels within the order. Though wookieepedia does mention the Potentium, I don't see Gray Jedi as being followers of such since the Potentium followers were kicked out of the order. You can't actively use the dark side and still be accepted in the Jedi Order.

In the old forums we had a debate about Grey Jedi and as I recall it was decided that Rogue Jedi were the ones who could be light or dark at any given time but Grey Jedi were just unorthodox Jedi but still largely followed the beliefs of Light Side vs Dark Side as explained by the Jedi Council.

Perhaps a good way to explain Grey Jedi is that they didn't dispute the theory and wisdom of the Council's teachings but just had a different definition of how to apply the teachings in the real world.

And I agree with Darth Skuldren's explanation for the odds, so my original odds stand. So are we gonna have this duel or what?

I have a mental picture of a Wookiee digging through his Jedi robe and trying to get his lightsaber out of his matted hair. Meanwhile a Caedus looking Judicar holds this deadly little beeping sphere in his outstretched hand, lightsaber in the other, an incredulous expression on his face...while the "Duel of Fates" background music comes to a screeching halt.

I'm liking they way this fight is starting out Very Happy Jedi can be very underhanded and sneaky sometimes.

Laughing Wonderful! Great Description of the scene! Laughing Maybe I should get the Jeperdy theme ready just in case jedipoodoo takes a long time finding his lightsaber (I'll see if I can get the thermal detonator to beep the Jeperdy theme)

You better hold this Jedipoodoo. *throws detonator back to Jedipoodoo* Here, catch.

-As the two duelists continue to toss the thermal det-
*turns toward Aush* Well this is a demonstration that could very well show why one would or would not turn to the dark side. Depending on the victor or how well the competitors fare could determine which path is best. It's a competition to see if the dark side holds any merit in combat.
*looks back and sees the detonator still changing hands* as is, it's a tie.

Yes, it does. *Judicar tosses the detonator back at Jedipoodoo and uses the Force to activate it. It blows up, and Judicar flies back a few feet, but he is better off than Jedipoodoo . . .* Laughing
