Written by Daniel Wallace and to be release as a hard cover with a fancy "vault" case plus some extras: a letter tracing the book’s history, a severed Padawan braid, a metal Jedi Credit medallion, a Jedi starfighter patch, a burned poster of the Jedi Code, a map of the Jedi Temple, a lightsaber diagram sketched on the back of a napkin from Dex’s Diner, and a note on the missing pages torn from the book by a Sith.

You can look at some page previews on Amazon.com, most of the pages feature some form of illustration and/or handwritten notes from famous Jedi/Sith including: Yoda, Thame Cerulian, Count Dooku, Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, Darth Sidious, and Luke Skywalker. I read the preview pages that were available and some of the handwritten notes were pretty funny.

Amazon has the book listed at 160 pages which is a little frightening considering the price tag: $99.99. Currently Amazon has a preorder price of just $62.99. Either way that's too expensive for me.

So, anyone else out there with a deep pocket book?

Seems more like a collection piece than a book - at that price at least. Its cool looking - gonna wait and see what the public thinks, but I would rather buy the new AT-AT.

It looks cool, but I'm afraid it will be the new Sacred Text for Jediism. Confused

I would love to pick that up! But that price tag is just horrific. Confused

I'm with Mara. I'd absolutely love to have it, but my pocketbook won't allow it right now. Sad

You know, I hadn't thought about this being a bible for Jediism.

I certainly won't be buying it, however, if they ever release a cheaper version, one without the case and extras, I'd like to take a look at it in the book store. Would be pretty nice if the library got a copy.

I find it rather interesting that Darth Sidious has comments in the book. The way they did it, it seems the book was passed on to different individuals, so Luke is actually the last one to get it and he actually seems to comment on some of the comments, even Darth Sidious'.

But the extras are what makes it appealing! Wink I agree that there are probably some nutjobs out there who will use it as a bible and build a little shrine to it. Frightening.

Lol I subscribe to Christianity but Jediism has a good side or so. Its about good deeds, karma, and the flow of life so its kind of basically Taoism

Oh, the Jedi have great ideas. But to walk around in a cloak with a fake lightsaber, believing in an energy that The Flanneled One created - that's a little strange. Razz

But walking around in a cloak carrying a lightsaber is perfectly fine as long as you don't believe in said energy. Wink

EUCantina recorded a video tour of the book with author Daniel Wallace at Celebration V! Watch it here!

How does the video change your thoughts on the book?
