I know two people who have it - both say it's been great so far (into about three chapters). I'm probably going to buy it.

I just finished the third chapter, which is about 50 pages into the book.

Now, I have been an admitted and unabashed hater of Sean Williams in recent years. Not because of his (co-authored) forgettable NJO books, but because The Force Unleashed sucked so hard. I wasn't entirely thrilled with the game, but I really expected an author who calls himself "the Emperor of Sci-Fi" in his "About the Author" section of his books to bang out a fantastic read.

But wow, I've almost done a complete turnaround on Williams. Granted, the book could tank... but I really doubt it will. All of the flaws of The Force Unleashed, like the glaring fact that it read like an actual play-by-play of the video game, simply don't exist here. Maybe it's because he actually gets a chance to really build up the picture of the universe here, but he has done a heck of a job so far. It's not, by any stretch, one of the best Star Wars novels. But it's a really great, and fun, read so far.

I shall be beginning it in about 30 minutes! Whoo-hoo! Been looking forward to this one. Smile

My library got it in and I'm first on the list to get it. Very Happy

Thanks VileZero, this is what I wanted to here. I thought TFU was an awful read and wasn't sure about how this one would turn out. I think I'll give it a chance.

I just finished it a few minutes ago. I tore through the fairly massive book in little more than a day. It was a DELIGHT to read, from start to finish. In fact, I'd go as far to say it's one of the better Star Wars books to hit the EU in recent years.

I can't recommend this strongly enough.

Not terribly far into it, but very interesting so far. It's rather captivating, I have to say. Most books don't grab me until about 100 pages in, and this one got me after the first few pages. I haven't heard a a bad thing about it yet, and I'm hoping I can say the same. Smile

I'm two thirds of the way into it. Been busy lately doing stuff around the house so I haven't had a chance to finish it. Hopefully I'll get some time tonight.

i'm about 100 pages into it, it is a great book so far, very fast paced, excellent characters, and it definatly dosent feel like its just trying to promote a product, it has a great origanal story of its own

this is a must buy

I feel like the book is so good, yet I'm cheating out on it. I had sped through about 75 pages when Halo 2, Revenge of the Sith (the game), and all the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight games arrived in my mailbox. Plus the sudden desire to earn all the achievements in Portal. So I've been gaming myself out and have completely left Fatal Alliance to die a lonely death in a corner of my bedroom. The 25 or so pages I've read since then have been slow going. The games seem to be winning out on my priority list. Which saddens me, and yet I can't seem to convince myself to change the priority ranking. Sad
