The way I changed the size of the original picture of my avatar was with Picasa. To do this, open up your picture in Picasa -
(If it's not showing up, you may need to change it to a jpg file, and to do that, simply make a copy, open that copy with paint, go to the Paint menu (next to Home in the top left corner) hover over Save As and, when it shows the different types you can save it as, click on the JPEG file and voila! Then go back to Picasa and it should now be there)
- then click on your picture so it's the only one you see, go to file and select Export Picture to Folder (CTRL+SHIFT+S). Once there, select, if it hasn't been selected already, the 'resize to' button and in the box underneath, change the number to whatever number of pixels you want. The exact number of pixels you want for 6kb varies from picture to pictre, but for this example, it is, in automatic image quality: 49 pixels. For maximum image quality: 56 pixels. For minimum image quality: 117 pixels. If you play around with it, you should get an idea of the number of pixels you need.
Examples:
Automatic (5.99kb):
Maximum (5.98kb):
Minimum (5.96kb):
If you don't have Picasa, or are having trouble, you can give it to me and I'll have a go, if you like. _________________ I am a Star Wars fan. That doesn't mean that I hate or love Jar Jar. That doesn't mean I hate or love Lucas, or agree or disagree 100% with him. That doesn't mean I prefer the PT over the OT, or vice versa. That doesn't mean I hate the EU, or even love all of it. These are not prerequisites. Being a man is not a prerequisite. Being a geek is not a prerequisite. The only prerequisite is that I love something about Star Wars. I am a Star Wars fan.
