Sequel to Allegiance.

Discuss!

First off, I'm a little disappointed to see a sequel to Allegiance because that book didn't really stand out. I'd rather see Zahn take a stab at something else. However, some things I guess we can expect to see in Hand of Judgement would be Mara Jade and maybe Thrawn in small appearances at the least. As for the stormtrooper squad which is sure to be taking center stage...meh. I'm not sure I have anything positive to say about them.

I'm excited about this, personally. I really enjoyed Allegiance. I will admit that it was his worst Star Wars work, but I don't think that comes anywhere near bad. And I like the title. Main thing I'm excited about, though: Mara! Very Happy

Ditto to Mara. I think that there is some really great potential from the first book, my only desire is no Han, Luke, or Leia please. I would like to see them focus on the troopers and Mara.

I barely remember Allegiance other than thinking it was OK, but nothing great(kind of like a b-side to a record for those old enough to remember that).

I would imagine that he has some good ideas going forward so I'll expect a good book.

Huh, I had the opposite opinion. I wanted more of Han, Luke, and Leia. Mainly because we've gotten used to their older incarnations and I wanted to revisit them when they were in their glory days. Farmboy Luke, mercenary Han, Princess Leia. I miss them. And I'm all for anything about Mara. Smile

True. I really, really want an OT era book about the Big Three.

Me too! And Zahn would be a great pick for it.

Actually, Thrawn is confirmed to be in it. I think we already have a thread for this somewhere...

I'm glad that my favourite SW author Tim Zahn is doing another classic SW novel with the Big Three at their OT prime and it will feature Thrawn and Mara Jade. I hope it's set in the Unknown Regions and we see some spectacular space battles and see the Millennium Falcon flying all over deep space and jumping to hyperspace and kicking butt in space dogfights like in the Thrawn Trilogy.

I hope that after Hand of Judgement Zahn does a Skywalker family adventure novel with Luke,Mara and Ben pre-LOTF or a Post-FOTJ novel with Luke and Ben and co. facing a Thrawn clone lurking in the Unknown Regions who turns out to be good and has to face a threat to the galaxy or just the UR/Wild Space and/or the Outer Rim.

Very Happy Wink Exclamation Smile

I was excited to see the cover for Zahn's Choices of One on TOS but was very dissapointed to see no synopsis of the book. Do the Big 3 and co. go to the Unknown Regions and confront Thrawn's Fleet? Does Thrawn steal the plans for the Death Star?

Does Thrawn lead a Fleet of Star Destroyers against a threat in the UR? Will it tie into any future books that Zahn will do like a Skywalker family novel with Luke,Mara and Ben set 30 years later?

I can't wait for July 2011 or even to see the synopsis of Choices of One. Why is the synopsis top secret? Does it tie into Fate of the Jedi or any upcoming books set after FOTJ?

Mad Exclamation

The cover is absolutely horrible, sorry. I've never seen such an ugly monstrosity of a cover. The only thing going for it is that it says, "Not Final Cover Art." I can only hope it's something very far from. Sad

@Mara: Its not the final artwork but I think it'll be a cleaned up version of this. They usually do a trash version just to have an idea so ya, I think this is still what it'll look like.
