Lighten up, Reep. Wink This is a fictional galaxy we're talking about here. And Lucas commented that the Jedi weren't required to be celibate. He didn't say anything about casual sex. Rouge 77 put his own spin on it. That's what he does. Laughing

Yeah, I'm looking at you, Rouge. Razz

Actually, I'm with Reep. I think it's extremely morally challenged. I realize that no where in the Jedi Code does it encourage casual sex, but that the option is there rubs me the wrong way.

Anyways, moving away from that.....does anyone else hate Satine's wardrobe? Especially those awful boots she wears with her more functional outfit?

*takes the cue and does a 180*

Oh man, I really can't complain about Satine's wardrobe...

Yes, the casual sex came from me, but I think it's basically what Lucas means, as here's Lucas himself:

But Lucas revealed that despite their monastic regime, Jedi were permitted to have sex.

"Jedi Knights aren't celibate - the thing that is forbidden is attachments - and possessive relationships.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/1989505.stm

How can there be love or even platonic romance without attachments? Or any kind of possessive feelings like jealousy? To me, it's sound like one night stands are basically what is allowable for the Jedi. If it goes farther, attachment tends to come into the picture.

The Jedi Order's view is probably a good one too, considering that if they would make celibacy a rule, that would make it yet another problematic and open issue inside the Order, it would be broken by many, there would be scandals, all kinds of repercussions etc.

So, I look it both a practical decision - one less problem to deal with - and as a kind of safety valve for the Jedi Order: The Jedi would be doing it anyway, so let's let them do it without secrecy and concentrate on those with the attachment issues.

So last night, we see changes in the character designs for Ahsoka, Anakin, and even Palpatine? What did everyone think?

I noticed Ahsoka's and really liked it. I thought Anakin's was a nice continuity from the beginning of TCW to approaching ROTS time.

Have to say I didn't even notice Palpy's changes.

I suppose Ahsoka's is better than what she had. Still not a big fan. I rather liked Anakin's.

Palpatine wasn't really a redesign of the whole model like the others, but I think they took some weight off him and I know they've given him new costumes with less puffy sleeves.

I'm used to costume changes, but I really noticed the slight change in Ahsoka's model. It definitely looks like she matured, but it's gradual enough that it looks natural. I think it was a good move.

Thanks for the info, OMB. Hmm, how certain did the circumstances look for the last one you list?

I couldn't say - I didn't see the trailer. This is all word of mouth, but I'll see it in person on Thursday and have more info then.

@OMB this may sound like a dumb question, but are there spoilers in that spoiler tag? If not, I'll take a look.
