I'm a Han fan, but Leia is only ok. Coruscant it is

Leia totally wins this one, hands down. She is the ultimate sci-fi fantasy girl with the epic metal bikini. Her role in the original trilogy is a key ingredient to its greatness. And in the EU she not only marries Han, gives birth to Anakin Solo, but also goes on to train under Saba and kick butt at every opportunity. Oh, and she was the Chief of State...of Coruscant.

Coruscant sucks Wookiee in comparison. "Oh I'm a big city planet!" Lame. There are lots of city planets in the Star Wars galaxy, Coruscant just gets more attention. How can a planet possibly compete with the one of the most epic female characters in the Star Wars universe?

Now I shall break out the Death Star and destroy Coruscant.

2 words. Slave. Leia.

Sorry to offend but that image has stuck with guys from my generation. Good or bad its a lasting image that goes way further than Coruscant. Just look at how many times that particular outfit has shown up in pop culture since then.

No need to even write out an expanded reasoning for this week. Just two words:

Metal. Bikini.

Leia wins this one handily.

Are we pigs for enjoying it? Or is George one for forcing her to lose weight to fit into it, then designing it so she was flashing half the filming crew?

Very well: Y'all are pigs. Seriously, an epic character like Leia and even she is being reduced to a sex symbol. Pathetic. Wink

I agree with IR2 though - Is that the fans fault, or George's?

Poor poor Ahsoka..... she's not even needed a scene like Leia's to have weird fans get perverse with her character. *shudders* one can't even look for a pic of her without filters.....

But there IS something powerful to being a sex symbol- it made SW more serious to those who'd not give it as much time of day.

Leia definitely gets a double take in the slave outfit.

Suddenly little girls are asking their parents: "Can I be a slave when I grow up?" Laughing

There's nothing wrong with being a sex symbol -- as long as that's not all you are. Smile

Leia is still a sex symbol, but she's a good character to. I just don't think she's enough of a character to overthrow all the epic goings on that have occurred at coruscant

Right there with ya, Reep. I could take this opportunity to launch into a angry rant about the degradation of women in society, but I won't. Wink

Amen. It's so ridiculous how they preach about strong women in Star Wars and every last one of them has been in a revealing outfit at least once. Seriously make up your minds. Rolling Eyes Satine will be next, mark my words.
