I used to be in to the social networking thing and, while it's certainly useful for expounding your blogs (wordpress has a linking widget which connects it to Myspace, Facebook, twitter and another place unknown to me), I don't use it. Even though I have four. And over fifty email addresses.

Just a pondering question that popped into my head as I've gotten to know people better in my grad school and adding them to my friends list through them friending me or visa versa: we all know what happens when a friend request gets accepted but what happens when the request isn't accepted?

I know that there is an "ignore" button but what does the person see when you ignore the request? Do they just get left seeing "friend request sent" or does the "send friend request" button reappear? The first option on the one hand seems kind of cruel to not let them know outright that you don't want to be facebook friends but on the flip side the second option could produce friend request spam.

As far as I understand it, the "send friend request" button will reappear once your request has been ignored.
