Actually, the real enemies here are Cameron and Shyamalan. I am starting to become convinced they have formed an Evil League To Subvert The Awesomeness Of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Wink

More info on this series from Comic-Con. I got all of the info from this article - http://www.ugo.com/tv/comic-con-2010-legend-of-korra-interview

-As mentioned , the cabbage merchant will not appear, but "his legacy will be present in some form."
-As an evolution of the first series, The Legend of Korra will have more sophistication to it, but still keep the humor, fun hybrid animals, and action.
It won't cover more mature subject material necessarily, just different mature subjects. "It won't be another war, but a different sort of conflict."
-On whether or not we'd see a love interest for Korra: "We love that stuff. We're total cornballs, we love cheesy teen romance. Rest assured, there's plenty or romance happening in the story, but it's the same balance of ingredients that we like."
-Katara IS in fact the mother of Aang's offspring, who will be central to the show. "We didn't mean for it to be a big super-secret, that they end up together."
-On the persecution of Airbenders being compared to the X-Men registration act: "We'll see something like that, but in sort of a different structure."
-Will it be a very different world from where we left off? "Yes and no, the world has definitely changed, and evolved, and advanced, but we're very conscious of keeping the same feeling. Not totally different, but it's definitely generations later."
-"There will definitely only be one Avatar at a time, and it is Korra."
-So will Aang have any kind of presence? "Yes...in his way."
-DiMartino and Konietzko will continue to work with Joaquim Dos Santos and Ryuki Hung, working to improve the design and animation.
-The Legend of Korra will in fact be a mini-series, with Michael and Bryan directly writing each episode.
-"As a mini-series, it's going to be really tight. While we really love the filler episodes, those are some of our favorites, this thing is just lean and mean. It's a really cool driving story."

Wow, sounds excellent! I'm now on my way to finally finishing the 3rd season of the original, so I should be ready in time for this one. Which...now that I mention it, I don't even know when it's coming out. Confused

I would have liked Cameron's Avatar had he not plagued it with treehugger garbage...

It's set to come out next year, Mara, but I have no clue if that's the beginning of the year or not.

I got into this series after seeing the movie. I thought parts of the movie were bad but I liked the idea so I checked out the series on Netflix. It was AWESOME! I've since added it all to my DVD collection and watched it a few times more lol. I then watched the movie again and was...well...very disappointed but will still give it the tip of the hat for getting me on board.

I haven't heard a thing about this new show except for what you've mentioned above, but I'm anxious for the Free Comic Book Day comic and talk of a new digest comic series in 2012 that deals with events right after Book 3 with the old gang rebuilding the world after the 100 year war.

Here is the article I read about it from CBR.com

Glad you weren't completely turned off the series by the horrible, horrible movie. It's a great show.

I think the final fight between Aang and the Firelord (who you cheer for just because it's Mark Hamil lol) was a little over the top but still fun.

It was extremely Deus Ex Machina, but still awesome.

Nope. I hope to rectify it though. Wink

Is there a place where you can legally watch it online?

EDIT: I found a site. I might start watching it tonight. Cool

I watched it streaming on Netflix and no matter how many times I've seen that introduction, I still haven't gotten too sick of it, surprisingly. Enjoy the show!

I can quote that intro, I've seen it so many times.

@Reep: Let us know what you think! Oh, and the first couple episodes start a little slow. Hang in there, it gets better.
