I like that Battle of the Heroes is playing faintly.

up until Obi-Wan arrives in the volcano with Anakin. After that, I still found it enjoyable, but many things bothered me. The yellow eyes on Anakin were overkill, and out of place. Leave the bags under his eyes, but making them yellow made it seem like he had been consumed by the Dark Side - but I didn't think anything said indicated that. He had joined the Son, but he wasn't killing Obi-Wan and Ahsoka or anything like that. The mind-wipe of Anakin was needed, because it was the only thing that would make sense - but I'd rather they had just never shown Anakin the stuff in the first place. It was totally pointless to show him if his mind is wiped five minutes later. Then, I didn't really like how the Son died. Anakin should have at least used the blade to stab him in the back. I thought that was the whole point of the blade. I was okay with the Father disappearing though. Oh, and showing Alderaan exploding to Anakin... he didn't even do that. Not sure why that was there.

Vader didn't object to Alderaan being destroyed. I mean, technically it's on the guy who pulled the switch, not Tarkin, but Vader and Tarkin are also culpable. Ahsoka's eyes were yellow so it makes sense that Anakin was similarly possessed. I thought it made sense that only through the Unifying Force (Father) did the Dark Side flow, so by the Father being mortally wounded, the Son lost his immunity to weapons that aren't the dagger.

I thought it was symbolic of the fact that the dark side is self-destructive, insofar as that the Son's goal through the trilogy was to kill the Father, but as we learn at the end when the Father dies the Son loses his power, something he was ignorant of. Also liked how the Daughter died in the previous episode, reflecting the Jedi, and the Son died in this one, reflecting the Sith. Anakin balances Mortis by having everyone die, just as he balances the Force by having all the Jedi and all the Sith die.
