That preview seems like overkill for something pre-RotS. It could be done well, though, so I'll reserve judgement.

I don't know about y'all...but for me this episode just failed all over the place.

I thought it was good. I found the ending to be touching.

I also like the idea espoused by Sam Witwer, as relayed by David Collins, about how in the prior episode the dagger of Mortis, while in the altar, is just the hilt, but upon grabbing it the blade materializes, similar to a lightsaber. Almost suggesting that the lightsabers are a technological analog to this more mystical weapon, a Jedi attempt to replicate it.

That would have been awesome...slightly problematic, but awesome.

This episode was too heavy-handed. Thank the Force for Anakin's mindwipe, but even with it, it was too over the top. I like the idea of a ESB-cave-like sequence, but it has to be more subtle and open to interpretation.

Yeah, I think that's what rubbed me the wrong way. It's like they were saying, "Look! LOOK!!! Revenge of the Sith! Remember it? REMEMBER?! Think they're gonna change the future? Huh? HUH?!?!?!" Rolling Eyes

Rolling Eyes I know. Anakin turning to the dark side pre-RotJ is utterly ridiculous. This is now my least favoutrite episode of TCW- replacing Downfall of a Droid. And that is quite a feat. Confused

What was GL thinking?

Quote:
Mortis Secrets Revealed:

1. The will of the Force created Anakin to preserve the balance (Father made Anakin come into his world to preserve the balance)
2. Darth Sidious is responsible for sending Anakin his visions about Padme and his mother (Son showed Anakin the future, broke the law of time)
3. Only one who is balanced, and performs acts that bring balance will become one with the Force (Father 'ghosting' while Daughter did not)
4. The will of the Force is to be in balance
5. The Jedi were corrupted by the war, and partaking in it led to their destruction. (Daughter was corrupted by the conflict, and brought about her own destruction by bringing in the sword)
6. Qui-Gon showed Anakin the path to balance by telling him to do neither the light or dark extreme, but follow his instincts and let the will of the Force take shape

And the most epic secret:

7. Balance was brought by a perfectly balanced act of light and dark: a selfless betrayal. Watching the end of RotJ will never be the same again.

Discuss?

^^This was a good post from TFN.

Anakin turned to the dark side because the trilogy was an allegory for the film saga, which had Anakin turn to the dark side. I mean, if you really hate the idea, the episode guide for Overlords states that it's up to the viewer to how much the episodes were truly literal. If it's just a vision like the cave on Dagboah, then did Anakin truly turn dark? The fact that Anakin's eyes turned yellow immediately and whenever he was "dark" seems more symbolic than literal. Not as though his eyes were always yellow when he actually was Vader, nor were Dooku's eyes ever yellow that we saw.
