I thought Lex's post was very rude, and the link to their blog went on being rude. It was so offensive to me, that I can't abide by it. So I'm asking everyone to stop by Lex's blog post and leave a comment showing their support for Sue Rostoni and the work she has done for us. I kind of agree with Jedi. While I realize that Sue is overbooked and works very hard for us (and therefore deserves no criticism in that sense), I do kind of find her response unprofessional. As Jedi says, to say all the books run together is kind of a negative statement regarding the series. It's important not to get so chummy with the fans that you can just say whatever you're actually feeling. A better response, if she really didn't remember, could have been, "It does occur in the pages of one of the books, but I cannot divulge that information at this time." It's the truth, but worded so as not to make the series sound like a chore to work with. I don't think Lex's initial reply was rude. However, I have not read the blog. I'm going to assume that he went overboard there. But yes, agreed with Jedi. I'm a Star Wars fan. I don't want to hear that the books are so similar/mediocre that they all just end up running together. Cerrinea Master Joined: 09 Jun 2009 Posts: 1410 Lex is a she and she has an agenda. She doesn't think there's enough romance in Star Wars. She comes back to this theme over and over. That's her real issue with LucasBooks. And the reply was rude. In essence she was saying she was more professional than Sue and the "deeply troubling" remark was really over the top. I find a lot of thing deeply troubling. Sue not remembering which book what was in is not one of them. Lex needs to get over herself. _________________ Roqoo Depot co-founder.

I just started posting at that forum a week or two ago, and I seemed to gather that he's a guy. The general consensus of that forum isn't that there needs to be more romance, just that Jaina is poorly written. And rather ironically, I was mentioning at that forum how I disliked that LOTF seemed to "run together" and how I legitimately can't distinguish events that occur within proximate books through Tempest to Revelation, and Sue posted that at TOS the next day. I'm not sure why having an agenda is being portrayed as a negative. She's not happy with the current state of the flagship fiction and she's making it known. Personally, were I so inclined I don't think I would need to look for reasons to whine about LOTF/FOTJ, because Del Rey and LucasBooks have given plenty.

Rostini didn't have to answer her question, but she did as best she could when she had a spare moment. Then she insulted the entire publishing agency on it. I'll admit the books should be longer, the plot could be better, and the blurb she whined about could have been more interesting, but nonetheless we demand so much from them and they keep up fairly well. she was out of line with her statements towards Rostini, but I think she has right to complain about the story if she wants. _________________ Perfection is a lifelong pursuit requiring sacrifice. I actually Understand Sue's point of view and think that its just fine that they run together for her. Crash Override Master Joined: 22 Dec 2010 Posts: 1796 Location: Carcosa Well, going back to what Rostoni said, the question was whether Daala's overthrow was something that happens in the books, or whether by its nature of being in the blurb, it happens in-between the books. She answered that question "Yes, it happens within the pages of one of the books. I can’t think of which one — they all run together for me." The bolded part was unnecessary, and I can see why it troubled Lex. Now, was Lex rude in her response? Maybe. I don't really think so, but I've worked in customer service and I've seen a lot worse. I just don't see why being rude toward Lex is particularly useful, and it seems that people upset about what she said are making this a lot bigger than it needed to be.
