I kind of agree with Jedi. While I realize that Sue is overbooked and works very hard for us (and therefore deserves no criticism in that sense), I do kind of find her response unprofessional. As Jedi says, to say all the books run together is kind of a negative statement regarding the series. It's important not to get so chummy with the fans that you can just say whatever you're actually feeling. A better response, if she really didn't remember, could have been, "It does occur in the pages of one of the books, but I cannot divulge that information at this time." It's the truth, but worded so as not to make the series sound like a chore to work with.
I don't think Lex's initial reply was rude. However, I have not read the blog. I'm going to assume that he went overboard there. But yes, agreed with Jedi. I'm a Star Wars fan. I don't want to hear that the books are so similar/mediocre that they all just end up running together. Even if that is the truth for an editor, and understandably so, it just needs to be worded differently before being released to the fans. _________________
