Hehe. You can be forgiven, mainly because of the big facepalm smilie.

So, why do you refuse to call them Klatooinians, preferring Baradas?

because WEG made a mess of the skiff guards as far as I'm concerned, they were tripping or something. Red Niktos and Green Niktos? REALLY!? No hell no.

I prefer Kenner's classifications inspired by TDTESS

Red Niktos (Vizam, Nysad) = Niktos
Green Niktos (Wooof, Giran) = Klaatus
Klatoonians (Kithaba, Barada) = Baradas

under WEG's sad watch the old Klaatus became Niktos and the Baradas became Klatoonians? SERIOUSLY!!

no, Barada's species IS Barada and forever will be

I really can't choose between all the cool species out there, but here are some of my favorites:

-Jawa's
-Hutts
-Rancors
-Twi'leks
-Mon calamari
-Mynocks
-Sandpeople
-Yoda's species
-Wookiees

But in the end I really like them all to a more or less degree. It would be easier to ask me about my least favorite species.

Great! I'll think up a few and post them.
It'll be a shorter list than this one for sure.

My favorite species would be Jawas followed by Yoda's species.

Gotta say the species that stood out for me in the movies was E.T... who can beat a glowing finger... am I right????

EU it's gotta be the Chiss. Cold and calculating. Tho the Vong do stand out.

Because GL said so. he wanted to maintain the mystery of the Yoda species.

One of my favorite alien species in SW are those sneaky conniving Bothans. I just loved to hate Borsk Fey'la. Back when they actually used to write politics well.

Yes, I think one of the most tense moments in the EU was with Borsk, Leia, and Karrde at the Katana fleet with Han and Luke on-board one of the dreadnaughts, and Fey'lya refusing to aid them as the Imperials attacked. It was a masterful climax to Dark Force Rising, IMO. Ahhh nostalgia.

As for my favorite alien species, that's a tough one. I like the Aing-Tii, although I didn't really like what was done with them in Omen. But I like the more obscure and esoteric species.

The Wraiths or Defels are pretty cool, and underused. Zahn used them quite a bit back in the day. I also like the Dashade.

I think another aspect of alien species in Star Wars I like is that before the prequels, the Galactic Civil War seemed strictly a human affair except for Ackbar and the Mon Calamari at the Battle of Endor. The alien species seemed mostly restricted to underworld activities. And with certain species like the Defel and the Dashade, they seem like their species is simply sleazy and its members only finds themselves off-world when they involve themselves in those sorts of activities. The Rodians are another example, but in that case, TCW has made them out to be a respectable species of which Greedo (and the several Greedo clones in Jabba's employ, apparently) are the aberrations within that society.

Ah, but then how does one explain Master Vandar from KOTOR? Isn't he the same species? Even if said species is still a mystery. Confused

He is the same species, but if they also didn't know the what species that was back then it is still a mystery.
